The Kode5 Latin American Finals will take place from this Wednesday, March 18th to March 21th in CompuPalace, a big computer shopping center located in the heart of one of the most modern and attractive zones of the City of Lima, the Miraflores district. With the beach at only 1 km away, big malls and a lot of tourism around, this event will congregate the top players from the Latin American scene, that will compete for the chance to participate in the World Finals in Russia.

The event will be divided in two stages. The first is a big open qualifier, called “Last Stance”, where every single team that signs up is able to participate for 5 slots in the Latin Final. The teams attending this stage, taking lace on Wednesday and Thursday, were separated in a group play that is detailed as follows.

The eyes will be of course on the favourites, MoNkeY, XuXaN, AK and OneForce from Peru, NoLimits from Venezuela and NAJLEPSZY from Chile. The first two teams had a close match in the Kode5 Peruvian qualifier, with XuXaN getting a tie with MoNkeY after a huge comeback. The guys from Venezuela are well known in the scene by being a top team in every single tournament, and NAJLEPSZY from Chile is the new generation clan that plans to end the reign of PuntoCL in the Chilean scene.

After this group play, a BO3 Bracket style will start, giving as a result the 5 missing teams that will complete the 16 slots in the Latin American Finals. The other 11 were invited by the organizers directly due to the missing or failure of the qualifiers in their countries, or qualified to the Latin Finals in local tournaments. These teams (without a particular order) are listed in the next page.
