Counter-Strike: Interview with Xp3

Garett "GRT" Bambrough sits down with David "Xp3" Garrido, star player of North Stars United.
Thanks for taking the time to do this, may you introduce yourself to the readers out there who may not know who you are.

Hi, I'm David "Xp3" Garrido, I am 21 years old, I am from France, I currently live in Montreal and I am playing cs 1.6 with NSU a local Montreal team.

What team at ETS do you believe will pose the biggest threat to you and why?

I think EG.ca and Winout are our biggest opponent cause they all want to win this event and they know they can.

As the part of the only 2 Canadian teams represented in CEVO and ESEA-I and with results for both teams being poor, what do you do to keep motivated to keep practicing and what is a major contributor to the results?

Well NSU is a new team and we are taking those online leagues to practice our strategies, teamplay and skill against the best Americans teams.

A lot of people were shocked when x3o let go of mehler and savior, do you feel this was a smart move for x3o considering they have been at the top of the scene for some time now with the previous lineup?

Everybody know about the stability it takes to be good but I think if x3o did that moves its cause they probably needed it to be more competitive.

What has NSU done to get ready for this LAN and how well do you feel you should do?

My team and I are feeling good we did a lot of scrims online and a small bootcamp at my apartment so we must be ready I think ;p.

A lot of people on the forums have been questioning your role on NSU. They know you're talented but always comment on how you are often the last man alive. Do you have anything to comment about this in response to the criticism?

Since my team can t clutch for shit I have to bait them to make sure we win :D. More seriously, I think people started saying this because of our last match on nuke where I was the last one alive pretty often but it’s only because of the strats we’re using on that map. If people take a look at our other matches, they will notice that our playstyle isn’t made at all for me to bait my teammates.

With ESWC apparently having sponsor problems which is a blow to the CS community and with AMD stopping sponsorships for gaming and possibly Intel how do you feel the gaming community will be in a years time? Will it decline or rebound and climb?

Everybody is affected by the economic crisis so its probably going to go back to normal with time.

Can we look forward to NSU at any future NA LANs?

If we can get some good sponsorship our goal is definitely to attend NA LANs.

And for fun, France women or Quebec? (Careful Miss Harvey may read this and put you in the dog house)

Hmmm I must say Quebec cause I used to live in Paris and people are less open.

Shoutouts?

Sure for my girl Steph, my current teammates, and my French friends!
