Garett "GRT" Bambrough recaps EG.ca VS NSU at ETS 2009 (GotFrag) - In the following match, the 2 representatives from Canada in CEVO-P and ESEA-I took part in an Upper bracket semi finals matchup on Inferno. Everyone would have expected this to be a close match and it lived up to the hype for sure ending in an 16-14 favor for? Well read and find out as I do a round by round recap 1st Half EG.ca vs NSU Round 1: EG won the knife round and got ct first on inferno and proceeded to do 1 window peeking, 1 hall passive, 1 pushing b, 1 flashing alt from mid and the 5th being support on window. Window traded kills in alt and the 2nd EG guy window made a costly mistake peeking window afterwards and dying making it a 4v3. NSU then picked the B player who pushed down and made a bad call by hitting A fast afterwards when the last 2 EG players were at end of halls and in site and traded 2 and 2 kills and won the round. If NSU simply ran banana after picking B they would have got in uncontested. Round 2 & 3: Nsu rushed B both rounds and obviously got mopped with no success on save round kills to lower EG’s money. Round 4: In round 4 EG did an alt mid pushed that I just absolutely loved. Being aggressive on 4th round and winning can set the tone for the match if won. Heller pushed alt and did a cool jump from the boxes under window onto Lalondes head and up top to t he roof and held alt there. NSU tho had no pressure on Alt and walked into a B take where they attempted a take but ADR ran through the smoke and got 4 nice kills before tek finished the 5th… this would set the tone for a good portion of the half. Round 5: NSU bought this round and EG stayed on the offensive on CT side by going aggro on B and yayo pushed down mid to beside tower to wait for a mid take from NSU. NSU picked an A player and yayo middle but proceeded to not doing anything at B and ran into A with no success although being up 2 men. Again being impatient by NSU cost them this gun round and pistol. Round 6: Nothing special, NSU went mid and got 2 kills but all died on a save. Round 7: EG decides to switch it up and play passive which ends up being a great call. NSU put no pressure on B and EG made a smart decision by not having 2 B and sent the rotator to A for a 4 man hold where NSU tried to wrap A and got mowed down. Round 8: NSU worked into a slow B take and ended up taking the site going 2 for 1 to enter B but failed to hold the site as EG retook B from halls ![]() Round 9: EG continues to be on fire with their aim and NSU tries a 2nd wrap on A which again failed. Heller at this point has taken over and playing amazing and EG has just relied on aim thus far but aim can only be so consistent in a match. The tides start to turn Round 10: NSU goes on a weak buy and decides to take A halls fast and enter the site trading kills. After a retake by EG the situation finds itself in a 2v1 in EG’s favor but the NSU player was in halls and flanked kill an EG flanker on halls and won the 2v1 with EG having low HP. Round 11: NSU decides to smarten up and does a default and applies pressure on B to hold the 2 players there and falls back to an A take. They continue to take the site from lane/tennis/sig whatever you want to call it and leaving EG having to retake but with no communication from the team it fails as NSU held from the site and pit. Round 12: NSU does same strat as before and ends up picking yayo in spawn with an awp and then decides to fake mid terribly while heller is boosted beside window calling the team to go back to B since the bluff was called. EG had adr and tek B ready for the take but failed to hold while NSU took the site easily and EG had 1 player able to save a gun. Round 13: EG has to save while having the 1 guy with the colt. NSU takes mid with some savers from EG defending and trade kills and heller flanks from window to kill 2 more leaving a 2v2 situation as NSU falls back to B. Tek is unable to hold B with a deagle as NSU claims yet another round while adr saves. Round 14: NSU decides to have 3 work B and 2 go A I presume after a fake is attempted, but teknikal decides to AWP and gets to entrys defending B while adr kills the 3rd. The A players try to take mid but heller is there to stop them and EG finally picks up another round. At this time heller is now 22-5 Round 15: NSU quickly works into an A take and again takes tennis… whatever you call it on EG easily and EG is left with 2 awps trying to retake the site which obviously fails and the half ends. 10-5 EG.ca(CT) – NSU(T) *Second half recap on next page Page:
