DTS takes on Crack Clan in group play of Dreamhack Summer 2009. Hot off a win at the Asus Spring Cup, DTS appears to be meshing well with their new roster. They have been playing together for about a month now. While the Asus Cup featured teams mostly from the Ukraine and Russian scene, it still had a fairly high level of competition. DTS showed most of their strength on de_inferno and de_train. Backed by markeloff's strong AWP this team will be hard to take on either of those maps. They showed some weaknesses on de_dust2 and de_nuke. With this new mix of Finns being the new Crack Clan, they will hopefully be able to bring a level of international consistency that previous mixes of the top Finnish players were unable to achieve. When on fire, these players have shown that they are unstoppable on de_nuke. Their play on other maps will be hard to predict as this exact roster has not been seen too much. All five of the players are solid so the difference between win and lose for them is going to be teamwork and preparation. If they can do what their other countrymen could not they can take this group in 1st place and find themselves possibly in the finals of the tournament. This match up will be the one that decides the group as the other two teams should not be able to compete with DTS or Crack Clan. As competition in the tournament heats up the first seed out of group play will become more important as it increases the likelihood of a team making the semifinals, getting them ever closer to the money for the tournament. As long as the map is not de_nuke, I predict DTS to win somewhere in the 16-10 area, however if Crack Clan is working well together they have the firepower to take DTS on any map.
