Counter-Strike: DHS Match Preview EG vs Begrip

By: Robert Jacobs - Published June 15, 2009 at 3:33 AM EDT - Writer Archive
After cruising through their bracket, EG will now take on Begrip in the DHS Quarterfinals win.
GotFrag.com - After having seen what both of these teams bring to the table on dust2, nuke, and inferno, they will now play each other first on de_train in a best of three series.

After unimpressive play in group play in which they were stomped by Lemon Dogs, Begrip was able to skate out of the group in second place after some close victories over the other teams. In contrast to their other maps expect strong play from Begrip on train with Snajdan's awp and strat calling leading the way.

This map is the only one where Begrip should be favored to win so if they're able to take it they might be able to sneak in a win on another map and take this best of three, however I predict they'll take this map then lose out on whichever the next two maps are.

In the first day EG showed they're capable of winning maps, they also showed that they are still making mistakes. If they want to go deep in the bracket they're going to need to limit their mistakes and there first test of this will be against Begrip. While their first match up is on train where I expect Snajdan to dominate, it is still a winnable map for EG if fRoD is able to hit awp shots, n0thing has also shown he's able to take control of this map (16-1 fnatic anyone?).

In whatever way they do it a win on train would be big for these guys and would likely lead to a 2-0 win in this best of three. However, if they don't take train, which is likely, they're going to have their backs against the wall in the next two maps, they should however be able to take them as Begrip looked very lackluster in group play.

This should be a fun first round match up where EG is favored to pass on to the semis. Look for a score line around 16-10 on all maps, with Begrip favored on train and EG favored on dust2, nuke, and inferno.

This match up will start at 4 AM PST/7AM EST and will be match cast on the GotFrag MLG Voice Ventrilo.
