why not just charge 35$ per person (175 per team) and make everything easier, shouldnt matter what a team pays with as long as they pay

its because so many teams have said they were going in the past and flake out, delaying the tourney..this way they pay and actually showup.

dont think grt is going to be showing, this is a qualifier where the winner will then go on to the WCG CANADIAN qualifier, mostly only going to be northwest teams showing up i think :S

For those of you asking about the 125$ and the 50$ prize pot it DOES come to 35$ CDN per person in a team. We are asking for a bulk payment mainly because of what #8 said and also we would like to run the tournament as smooth as possible.

Just as KHarrower says, VS has experienced teams dropping out of tournament competition at the last minute after multiple claims of attending 100%. Pre-Registration will hopefully help in the facilitation of a smoother tournament.

I do not believe it to be an inconvenience to any players as the announcement has now been made more than a month in advance, plenty of time to get their stuff together. Pre-Registration is now open and can be found at

The amount of cash each team must bring for the prize pot has been reduced to 100$ Please correct this.

Also the title of the post would probably attract more local players if it read 'Vancouver BC, Versus Gaming' or 'Vancouver BC LAN'... just so that Vancouver was displayed on the main page.

and #17 ... there will be a WCG Canada. Not as big as the last 3 years, but in a way it will keep the competition at a higher pace as well as reducing the costs of operations. We're looking for 4 CS teams (Nopression as returning champions + winner of VS Lan + Winner of Lanapalooza in Toronto + winner of online qualifier) and 8 participants in other games (Virtua Fighter 5 and Guitar Hero : World Tout [guitar])
