Counter-Strike: GameGune Finalizes All But One

By: Brett Sheffield - Published July 10, 2009 at 9:46 AM EDT - Writer Archive
GameGune has finalized its team list, except for one.
GotFrag.com - GameGune has announced that it has added six teams, filling up the tournament with 32 teams. The teams were announced and then the Polish team, PGS, had to back out due to financial trouble because they were confirmed so late before the tournament.

The teams announced today are nEophyte, a Czech team, and two french teams, Millenium and dRu. Also added was TBH.eSports, who has yet to solidify a roster for the event, emoTive and PGS, who later backed out of the event.

With PGS out of the tournament, it seems likely that a more local team will be selected due to the close proximity of the event and the rising cost of travel. PGS is the only spot that is not confirmed at this time, and the team should be replaced shortly.

GameGune 2009, which is scheduled to take place on July 23-25th in Bilbao, Spain will feature a prize purse of €22,500. While there will be no American teams, nor the top teams of fnatic, SK, and mTw, the event thus far is looking as if it will have some great competition and representation of much of Europe. Stay tuned to GotFrag for more GameGune coverage as the tournament approaches.

looking to be a really great tourny, will be good to have no fnatic, mTw and SK ironically, as the other teams here don't really get chances to win anything.

Shame for PGS, looks good though.

You're really calling wicked a non-big dog? Don't see anyone stopping wicked, and will expect neo to drop 40's every other map.

To be fair mouz, aTTaX and POSSIBLY emuLate can and should stop WICKED, but im hoping for a massive upset from dignitas or Virtus (my favourite clan) ;-)
