Counter-Strike: Hazard Venterview at ESEA LAN

By: Nick Pitts - Published July 25, 2009 at 7:09 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Alex "hazard" Martins takes time out of his match-filled day to conduct a vent interview. If you didn't catch it, here is what you missed.
The hazard Venterview begins.... Now.

Let’s start things off right off the bat, how do the forum threads and words of online affect you, whether it be motivation, irritation, or maybe you just think they are humorous?

I always see the threads and the people talking crap about me, but most of the time I just find it funny because I know what we can do as a team, so just read them, laugh, and move on.

While B2B is a new team, none of you are new or inexperienced, but what are your keys to success on an individual level and as a team? You guys seem to be a more composed and laid back team compared to Gravitas, or hostile rather. Does there come a point in the match when you guys just feel like it is time to get rowdy, or is the composure more important?

Just playing our game, making sure we check the normal spots, and doing what we always do. We usually like to stay consistent, instead of going up and down in a match. Zid has his rounds where he gets loud, but most of us like our composure.

hazard... on LAN!?
How has B2B’s stay in Texas been? Did the team go out last night after the skills competition or was it a night of rest?

Actually, we did go out last night. We had a ton of fun and did some things I can’t really say, but it was definitely a night I’ll remember.

Are there any teams or individuals here that you look forward to playing whether it be a friendly or non-friendly feud?

I wish we could have played coL on a map other than inferno because I consider that one of our weaker maps. But, playing coL and beating coL was fun so, that’s what I wanted.

After a match like the first map against coL, do you worry what people are going to say or do you just worry about returning the favor on nuke like you did?

Never. I mean, we didn’t do so well against coL in New York, but we came here and destroyed them one map. I never worry about my performance, I just play my game, do what I do, and worry about the current match.

Final question, how comfortable are you, knowing you have the official awp_map champion on your team?

Haha, zid has been the awp champion since back in the day. He clutches so many rounds with that awp, and always does insane things. So yeah, I’m definitely comfortable with him on my team.
