Counter-Strike: Playoff Spotlight: Loaded

GotFrag takes a look at the top six teams competing in the ESEA-I LAN Playoffs.

GotFrag.com - This team comes into the event with 3/5 of the players they had last season. Last season they were under the name Back2Back and ended up placing fifth. Their only win came over the former Blight.usa roster. They had two close best-of-three's with compLexity and Turmoil - both ended up going to three maps.

The team struggled throughout the regular season, losing matches to EG, compLexity, Turmoil, and Excello. They only suffered one forfeit loss given to them by Area51. One thing that Loaded does have going for them is that they have kept the same consistent roster throughout the year. They will have to improve their game for the LAN finals because they will have to hurdle over EG, compLexity, and Turmoil. If they come to win their first round, they will go on to face EG, and it is a best-of-three they will need to win.

Their first match coming into the event will be against DINC. Loaded only played against DINC once during the regular season, and it was the first match for both teams. Loaded was able to come out on top with a 16-8 score. Both teams have had the chance to perform much better throughout the season, and it should be a good match up that will open up the playoffs for both teams.

Loaded's ESEA Playoffs Roster:

United States Ric "iNERTiA" Bundy
United States Nazar "stENoOo[Lg]" Vynnytsky
United States Michael "chE" Guevara
United States Matt "Lim" Beahan
United States David "zid" Chin

League Record: 9-7
Seed:5th

Expected Finish: Fourth/Fifth. This team has more experience over DINC and Excello. They also have the LAN experience to bring them out on top. With this team being the same all season long and with consistent play, they should be able to take DINC, but not without going to three maps in the first round. This means that they will face EG in the second round if they win.

Interview with a Player

We caught up with Ric "iNERTiA" Bundy to ask him a few questions about the upcoming LAN Finals.

This season you guys replaced Perez and Hazard with Che and Lim; what led to this change and why Che and Lim?

The team was not performing as well as we expected which led us to pick up Che and Lim. Just like any other team, we are just trying to find the right group of guys.

It seems that you weren't the most active team during the season due to many of your matches being delayed until early October. Have you switched gears and started preparing harder with the playoffs approaching?

During the season people on the team had some personal issues to deal with which made us delay a lot of our matches, but we're definitely utilizing every minute that we can right now to be as prepared as possible for it.

You came into this season as a top contender after a strong finishing record in season three; however, you only barely managed to make the playoffs with the 5th seed and a 9-7 record. How do you feel you can turn it around in the playoffs?

Well, like I said, during our regular season we had a lot of downtime which definitely showed when we crammed in like 6 matches a week in the last 2-3 weeks, now that we've had time to relax and practice steadily without matches I think our improvement should show in playoffs.
