CPL closes in as GotFrag again update the World Rankings for all. Questions are abound, was ESWC a fluke that the CPL will correct? Are teams like Virtus.Pro for real and can The Titans back up their play? What about North America; is 3D really not what they use to be and is TSG that good? The rankings will try and answer maybe a few of those questions. Gotfrag rankings poll prominent members of the gaming community to compile a varied and generally unbiased ranking of the top teams in 3 distinct areas: Worldwide, North American, and European. While Gotfrag conducts the poll, and members of Gotfrag staff cast votes toward the final decision, the rest of the data is acquired privately from players, team management, media, and other eSports entities. The points a team accumulates are a tally of votes placed for the team by any voter. The higher the voter rates the team, the more points they acquire. All voters’ points are of equal value, and everyone votes for their top 10 teams, in order, for each category. FPV stands for “First Place Votes”, and is a count of how many voters decided that the team is the top ranked team in the category. Now, on to the results... Worldwide Rankings
Just Outside: Adrenaline (17), Rival (6) Next Update: August 27th ESWC proved deadly for SK.swe who saw their large lead disappear. The Titans took the biggest chunk while NoA held on to its third spot just ahead of 2nd place ESWC finisher spiXel. American TSG rallied the NA votes to surge into the 5th spot just ahead of mouz and mibr who both lost favor due to poor showings. EYE lack of attendance hurt them further while Virtus.Pro did damage jumping onto the top 10 along with astralis right behind them. North American Rankings Just Outside: e7 (10), D!E (8) Next Update: August 27th EverLAN takes a bite out of things as 3D continues to fall. Rival who didn’t show up picked up the ground while u5 comes within two points of 3D. TSG still dominates up top and should have no trouble keeping that if they can take home the top spot for NA teams at CPL. EG also improved points wise but couldn’t move up any spots after it’s second place finish at EverLAN. TEC and zEx held onto their spots while new face Nerve grabbed the next stop not moving up as high as some without CAL-I experience. Forsaken lost a spot to Nerve but held off new comer Meepins who advanced behind NoA in their group at EverLAN. European Rankings
Just Outside: D-Skyline (8), GG (6) Next Update: August 27th A huge dent was made in the SK.swe reign by the Titans who closed into only a 17 point difference. Voters gave SK.swe the benefit of the doubt this CPL but a weak result should move them off that top spot. Pre-ESWC favorite spiXel got a nod after a productive event while mouz sees its first drop while EYE holds off the Russian surprise, Virtus.Pro. astralis picks up some group jumping ahead of Adrenaline while Ownage also gets some votes after a solid event. Gamers.nu grabs the last spot to fill out the rankings. General Ranking Notes: 1. Sorry, but there aren't any rankings for Australian, Asian or South American regions. 2. NoA is an international team, and do not qualify for North American or European rankings. They are ranked in the World Rankings. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
