Rival de_inferno defense

ph33r/medias

These two are the ones in bombsite B and play it very traditionally and nothing too fancy.

The way ph33r and medias like to start the rounds off in this bombsite is with ph33r tossing a quick flashbang over the wall to slow down a potential rush and give medias some security while he spams the wall just in case the offense does a quick push banana. After the flashes and spam medias sometimes boosts ph33r onto a box while he spots the banana baiting himself. As the enemy will think he is alone or the 2nd defenseman will be spawn side as they enter ph33r has a nice drop on them from on top of a box inside of the bombsite.

Very rarely medias will leave ph33r in this bombsite by himself while he falls back and watches middle from the spawn side. Usually this tactic is ran with the solo player peaking the banana, mostly with an AWP. When ph33r and medias run it, ph33r just likes to float around behind boxes with an colt and a flashbang. It is a very risky setup, but medias does a great job of retaking this bombsite.

hanes

Hanes is going to be the hallway player for Rival and he plays it very defensively, but very effectively. Hanes doesn't like to play this position from inside of the hallway or even on the balcony. Hanes is more than often playing the hallway from various boxes in the bombsite, and if he's not on the box he likes to just float around the center box.

*Defensive note* One thing Rival's opponents need to watch out for is Rival giving up the middle with one person spotting from the right middle. When this happens you can expect to see hanes and masternook in the box stack inside of the site for the offense to come around the left side of the bombsite.

masternook/exodus

Unlike most maps where Rival plays in partnering positions, masternook and exodus will rarely be in the same spot together. The only time you can really expect to see them together is during the pistol round on a headstack that looks a lot similar to the screen shot of an AWP stack they do on the right side of the middle.

Exodus plays the right side of middle and he plays very passively. You can almost always expect him to be floating around back and forth from the hallway to the right spawn area to watch the right side entrance of the bombsite and catch the offense passing by in their backs.

Masternook is going to be floating around a lot all over the place never really committed to one spot. His positioning can range anywhere from the small sandpit to the window room to. A lot like the other positions on this map, masternook likes to put a lot of faith into his shot and play in very open positions.

Rival de_inferno offense

Rival's offense on inferno is very basic and not too hard to get a grasp on. When we look at their offensive side we see 2 basic tactics.

The first tactic is going to be a slow banana rush. This consists of all 5 Rival members going banana and setting up quick to pick off any defensemen peeking the banana. After this is clear they slowly walk up and hold the banana. When it is time 2 smokes fly to the right side to blind any crossfire coming from spawn area, 1 or 2 flashes over the roof, and when they round the corner there will be about 4 or 5 flashes all over the bombsite blinding every possible area as they take over.

The next tactic will be a default setup in a 1-2-2 formation. 2 up the middle, 2 in the hallway, and 1 watching the flank coming from banana when the rush occurs. This tactic is very basic and not nearly as coordinated with flashes and smokes as the banana tactic. A few regular flashbangs take place when they are ready to enter this bombsite, but nothing special. The 2 players from the middle will go to the right while the hallway players jump off of the balcony. Rival doesn't do what many teams do, which is take the left side to make the defense have to worry about a spawn flank to bombsite B.
