Getting Started
In this segment I am going to basically walk everyone through the steps I like to take while constructing playbooks. First as an analyst one must understand the various setups on all maps. I'll touch base on a few but let's begin with the config.
The Config
When I first started working for Got Frag? I was on the movie staff and I was given a movie.cfg. With this cfg you can fast forward, or fast fast forward, as well as pause. You can also make a movie, but that's not what we do with these playbooks is it?!
Right click and "Save Targer As" and insert into your cstrike folder.
Buttons:
F9: Fast Forward
F10: High Speed Fast Forward
F11: Pause
movie.cfg
The Defense
Popular Defensive setups:
De_dust2:
2 in B: If you see your oponnent likes to set up in a 2 in B setup, this usually means middle is left wide open, it is very rare we see teams in a 2-1-2 setup anymore. If they both play B there will be one assigned to tunnels and one as a "floater" helping him if he spots enemies and also peaking middle now and then. A lot of players like to spot middle by hugging the double doors or spotting from window. This leaves them very open for a 3 B 2 middle rush with flashbangs coming over the wall from middle.
1-2 in A: This is where you see 2 players, only 1 is covering the opposite spot. 2 Catwalk, 1 covering long A. 2 Pushed up long A, 1 covering catwalk. If you see your opponent likes to do this, it is usually with a very strong AWP in the 1 person spot, but it also lets you know if you see either 1 or 2 players you will know where the others are.
3 catwalk: This is a very nice tactic for teams very secure in retaking the bombsite with flashes. They keep focus on the catwalk and give up long A with only 1 spotting from catwalk. Cure for this? Flashes off of the green boxes in the bombsite to blind the players on catwalk before crossing the spawn entrance.
De_inferno:
2 in B: This is usually used as a 2 colt cross fire with 1 playing in the site and 1 playing spawn side, leaving the spawn player out of the game if smoked.
1 in B: If you see one spotting the banana with an AWP, this usually means he is the only one in B and hopes he can slow a rush down while one of the middle players falls back. In bombsite A 2 players usually play spawn side watching middle, 1 left watching middle and 1 halls.
Defensive A: Sometimes teams are very paranoid of teams going up middle, going left, and heading through spawn. From this we see very defensive setups where teams give up middle and one of the middle players plays near spawn hiding waiting for enemies to cross towards library or he will play in the library. Meanwhile 2 can focus on the hallway and leave little attention to left side of middle.
Those are just a few.
