New euro staff member Amadeus conducted 2 small interviews with walle from spiXel and MrKill, the owner of SEL. With the news that SEL will be switching to a tournament format, it will be interesting to see top swedish teams such as SK, EYE, and spiXel fight it out for the prize money. walle from spiXel

GotFrag: You are competing in the tournaments with the greatest teams in the world, what’s your opinion about the participating teams?

Walle: Oh, I don't know really. It wouldn't matter to me but it will of course be harder to win now, obviously, but it'll be interesting to see how it goes for sure!

GotFrag: About the addition for your brother, miniwalle, what’s your opinion on the progress so far?

Walle: We've gotten some time to practise now and it's going just fine, he's doing well and probably will do better as time goes by.

GotFrag: Do you think that his participation in SEL will effect your gameplay much rather then Hybers did?

Walle: I'm not gonna say that he's better or worse than hyber in anyway, but it has affected our gameplay in a positive way, we're now able to develop our strats even further.

GotFrag: How will you prepare for the tournament?

Walle: I don't know right now but I'd guess we'll be praccing as usual over the Internet, and might be sitting at spiXel for a few days bootcamping before leaving for the tournament.

GotFrag: Since you will be playing on LAN, will you play with some fake tactics in your upcoming online games?

Walle: I don't know about fake tactics but we'll prolly not show more tactics than we have to, depending on the opponents but either we'll not show our tactics, and if we do, we prolly will change them for the next tournament.

GotFrag: What are your chances of winning the tournament?

Walle: If we have a good day, our chances are good :)

Mattias Hjelmstedt from SEL

GotFrag: Four worldclass teams in SEL, four more to present, are the teams already selected?

MrKill: Well, seems like you have gotten that information backwards. We will only give out four wild cards, not eight. The rest will have to qualify.

GotFrag: And which teams will be allowed to qualify?

MrKill: All Sweden based teams will be allowed to qualify through our big SEL qualifier that starts the 8th of October

GotFrag: What made you give SK, EYE, caYa and spiXel wildcards?

MrKill: SK, EYE and SpiXel are given choices, they are all top five teams in the world and has proven time and time again that the rock on LAN.
CaYa however have been very consistent in SEL and finished second last SEL and first in the one before and get their wild card based on those results.

GotFrag: When SEL was played as a league, teams kept dropping out, how will you prevent this in the future?

MrKill: Well, since SEL nowadays is an event rather than a league that problem is not an issue any more. It will be played with qualifiers and LAN events just like other major events, like the CPL and WCG etc.

GotFrag: Will the price money continue to increase?

MrKill: Yes, we are of cause looking to increase the prizesum. After we annonced the new format it has actually proven to be easier to discuss with new potential sponsors. Regular media like TV has also announced their interest in the new format so things are looking bright.

GotFrag: But Samsung is still the headsponsor for SEL?

MrKill: Yes, Samsung is still the head sponsor of SEL.
