WCG is just a few days away and it is time to get into a deep analysis of the team everybody is watching at the event, SK. SK is the 2003 reigning champion team and everyone wants to know if hyper can help them keep the title. In this article we go over SK's most recent setups and tactics and try to get behind the minds of some of the greatest Counter-Strike players to ever touch the game. ![]() Introduction It is finally here, the SK playbook. SK is the reigning champions of the World Cyber Games after beating USA's Team 3D in the grand finals in a very well fought match on train. SK has been in a bit of a rut as of late, but they are still the #1 ranked team in the world and more than worthy of a playbook to get inside of the minds of some of the greatest thinkers in the game, as well as tactics that may work to counter them. Now we all know that SK has recently picked up the all-star from the Summer CPL championship team EYE, hyper. He is a great player and rumored to be the new in-game leader for the team. Also we have recently been informed that due to an illness, SpawN will be unable to attend this event. Although there have been these changes to the lineup, this playbook does as much as it can and goes over SK's most recent playing style. Expect their offense to be different, there is no doubt about that, but not the defense. As you have read in the "Bootman's How To Guide on Making A Playbook" article, the is the predictable defense theory. Defense is the most overlooked part of the game and even the top players fall victim to it. I won't guarantee anything, but it will be interesting to see how much the old SK defense looks to the new one. |

love the new logo, looks like hes looking at something very naughty haha
Otherwise good read.
I'll probably get flamed for this, but if a team can push SK out of their patterns like EYE did at CPL, SK falls back upon pure aim and reaction, and when they do that, they can be taken by the likes of 3D, U5 and Rival. This playbook could help a lot in doing that.
i look forward to see how sk plays in wcg. especially since im a huge sk fan and have been since the nip days.
i guess someone did this once.. i dont remember at which "gaming web" but they did.. at 2002 i guess or so...
but this one is like more objective...
Nice really nice
edit I see that was addressed in the introduction, but I think Hyper will bring more tricks to the table than just for offense.
Besides, SK will change their strats or at least have some in the case of Inferno :P
sk's weakness was there tactics IMO hopfully they will step back up to the table and OWN.
Having one person or team dominate a scene makes everyone else have to try much harder to catch up with that person just look at Golf and Tiger Woods as a example.
If the teams who are trying to beat SK starts to rely on this article and forgets about their REAL tactics they gonna lose BIG!
waiste should be waste.
otherwise good job
Also anychance you cld add target="_blank" to your imag tags so when you click for the bigger image it opens in a new page :)
nice try bootman nice read but really, Do you really think that they will keep the same tactics
better luck next time
Was a nice read :)
Nice read too
if bootman is SO good(and he is) at predicting and knowing the strats of all the top teams..WHY THE HECK CANT HE COME UP WITH A TEAM AND GO TO CPL AND WIN THE FREAKIN THING...COME ONE MAN..NOWS YOUR CHANCE AHHHH!!
And even Hyper does make some changes for the Strats, its just hyper + 4 SK. So there will be some left of the old tactics, since things that worked before, may still work today.
The SK defense will be extremely week to a 4-1 defensive set up.
