The worst situation to lose is the 3 v 1s or 2 v 1s. Having a set plan on how to handle this situation is a must. It doesn’t matter if you camp or go on the hunt as long as the rest of your team understands their roles in such a case. If you plan to camp out a spot or the bomb, stand in a spot where you can only be shot from what you’re looking at. Have each of your teammates do the same. As soon as you hear a teammate fighting, you will know exactly where enemy is. In that situation, react quickly and take him out. Your team won the pistol round and you’re wondering what to do now. Especially as the second round of CT side is not a given, your team should know how to set up for a DE Armor rush from any spot. Make sure you’re well stacked at major rush points to shut it down. As T, your team should know what to expect. There is absolutely no reason to call this round on the fly as your team should have tested tactics to prevent getting rushed by CTs or walking into a stack in a bombsite. On the opposite end of the spectrum, your team just lost the pistol round and you’re trying to think of what to do. What is your goal as T? Is it to save, buy DEs, and get the bomb down or something else? This round can definitely be a momentum killer for the other team. With 3 kills or more, you have yourself a great round. A lot of teams waste this round by trying to get it over with as fast as possible. A well scripted plan of action could easily change the tide of the match. As T, it’s not that hard to come up with a plan to get the bomb down; however, it cannot be done in some bombsites. Trial and error is a great friend in this situation. Learn what best fits your team and use it successfully. As CT, having your rush or stack well tested could be the difference between a win and a loss. Speaking of learning what best fits your team, just because you saw SK do some strat at the CPL doesn’t mean that you can pull it off. Adjust strats to account for your team’s weaknesses in an attempt to minimize them affecting the outcome. It’s okay to borrow a famous strat, but just make sure to change it so it works for your team’s skill level. Timing is everything. A simple 3 – 2 split on any bombsite will only work if things happen at the right time. Your goal is not to rely on your skill to take out 3 guys in a site, but to use your team’s timing to force a single CT to fight two or more Ts at a time. If you can get your team to throw HEs, smokes, and flashes at the right time and attack at the precise moment, most of the time you will be able to take over any bombsite no matter how good the other team is. This also holds true on retaking a bombsite as CT as walking in one at time just insures the win for the other team. |
