Strike Walled

Introduction

Guest writer Patrick “Irch” Cole brings us a detailed analysis of important spam spots in the recently-released de_cpl_strike. Each screenshot contains a small overview detailing the part of the map that the screenshot refers to. A yellow dot represents the position of the spamming player (the source of the spam), and a yellow line represents the direction of the spam (the path the bullets take). Irch also created a map overview for de_cpl_strike that was used in producing the graphics for this article. You can find it in the files section of GotFrag? or you can just click here.

Map Overview

As you can see, bombsite A is on the front left side of the map, while bombsite B is further back on the right hand side of the map. There are halls leading to each bombsite (on the furthest left and right extremes of the map), and there is a middle section, which leads to bombsite B through a catwalk (C), and to bombsite A via a connecting hallway (D). There are three sets of stairs on the map: an ascending stairway (E) leading directly into B, a descending stairway (F) leading from the right halls to the previously mentioned ascending stairway, and a third stairway (G), which connects the left halls to the middle section (this stairways leads to the North, then turns 90 degrees and leads to the West. The West part of the stairway is under the catwalk, so it is not visible on this overview).
