This is Bootman's last pre-cpl playbook for this event. He gives a solid breakdown of Team 3D on Train, Dust2 and Nuke. Check it out.
3D de_dust2 defense Since Quach has joined team 3D, these two have been a deadly combination in bombsite B. Quach will be sporting a colt while Miller uses…guess! An AWP! The top priority for these two in this bombsite is going to be getting Miller onto the platform. Once Miller is on the platform, you can pretty much rest assured that bombsite B is going to be covered. These three will be the A players and have a pretty basic setup. More than often they have a basic setup of Geffon watching long A from inside of the bombsite with a colt while Garozzo and Kim float around the catwalk in no real set stacks. Aggressive Catwalk: This will be two catwalk players pushed up watching middle, while one hops up and down spotting lower B. SK Catwalk: This is the setup that SK loves to do and 3D has taken a liking to it. It is both players setup on the railing, but only one is showing from far back. He spots, the other is up close with a flashbang. Once he spots, the flash is thrown against the wall and both players are able to shoot catwalk offenses like fish in a barrel. 3D’s signature catwalk push: Playing slow or holding long A too long? Well 3D will take advantage of this. This is a VERY aggressive and risky push to the end of the catwalk that 3D does at least once a half on defense. Two push to the end of the catwalk in a stacked formation while one plays defensive catwalk in the bombsite. 3D starts out the halves very B oriented, and if it does not work they adjust to a couple different tactics. 3D’s default setup looks a lot like the old zEx default from ESWC 2003. This was two B halls every round to fake a B rush with nades and noise and then going down to lower B halls. Meanwhile one sits long A outside of double doors watching for a push and two slowly move up catwalk. Now you can do pretty much whatever you want from this tactic, but 3D likes to go sandwich B. They like to send two B through halls and three out of the double doors. The double door players smoke spawn so it is basically a 5 on 2 in the bombsite when they get there. |

Go 3D :)
Also, it would have been nice to include inferno in there. That map always seems to give 3D a close game no matter who they're playing.
And to all of you kids whining about how 3D will lose now, have you not noticed that for the last like 18 CPLs EVERY team uses different strats than what they had shown everyone in the months beforehand... Except for NoA, which was just plain ignorant of them so it's their own fault...
Don't even think that you can blame bootman for any team's loss, all these playbooks are useful for come CPL is showing the team's overall style of play...
bootman just happens to be very good at it
not that theres anything wrong with that
Think it was in the CAL-I Finals playbook...
I fail to understand what purpose it serves other than to give other teams @ CPL an instant insight and potential advantage into and over another teams gameplay, that (unless they put in the effort) that they otherwise might not have...
And if 3D change their strats completely from those in recent months for CPL then i'll be surprised - though it would negate my argument.
We'll see....
