3D de_train defense

Kim

3D has a similar risky setup to The Titans. This leaves one player inner playing close low ramp, while four players focus on the outside. Kim is a great choice to leave inner and he does it very well. He likes to do two things. One is spot the low ramp with an HE grenade and toss it if he sees them then falling back to spray them down. The second is under the pop dog train.

Either way, if you hit the outer site, watch for Kim to be flanking the ladder pretty quickly to back up his team.

Miller

For as long as I can remember, Miller has been the ladder room player and no matter what he decides to play with, colt or AWP, he controls it. Back during WCG 2003 and the era of 3D around then, he was a close ranged colt player, now he’s back to his roots.

Miller is going to be the designated AWPer on de_train. Miller likes to come out of spawn and spot middle down the 5 or 6 train for a quick middle rush and then fall back to the bomb train to watch the ladder room. That is about it, but he does a heck of a job doing it.

*note* Watch out for Miller taking quick middle shots from the Z hall. If his spawn permits it, he will do it.

Quach/Geffon/Garozzo

My job is to analyze teams and maybe 3D’s most recent demo on de_train (vs. W.E.W) was a bad pick to analyze. It is pure chaos and it appears that these three take on the responsibility of watching ladder and middle pretty much spawn based in whatever way they can. Take a look at the screenshots.

3D de_train offense

Fast! Fast! Fast!!!! This is what 3D has been all about ever since the GGL tournament. De_train is really a momentum based map for the offense and 3D takes that momentum and speeds it up to mach 3. They are all about fast paced tactics and here are a couple that they like to run.

1-2-2: This is the default tactic. This sends two players down ladder (with the bomb), two players out of middle, and one coming up the alley to catch the flank.

3-2: This is three out of the middle and two out of the ladder room.

Inside rush: This will send one top ramp and four dropping low ramp. The four dropping low ramp is to throw off an AWPer’s shot. Once they do this, three rush in to clear the site and clear the bomb. Three? Yep! Miller stays on the ramp to watch the Z hall and spawn with his AWP while his team controls the rest of the site and the ladder room flank.
