E.
Stromberg (da bears) is another well-known CPL/CAL-I player who has been on big name teams such as Eminence, 3D, U5, and, most recently, WEW. He has had to deal with a lot of high expectations over his CS career, especially that of when he was with Team 3D. With 3D being the newly created version of X3 with an all-star cast, hopes were high in the American CS community that they would win the CPL. After a very mediocre finish, da bears pursued other teams and has been successful in CAL Invite, but has never had a team finish well at the CPL. Because of this fact, many would assume that there would be a noticeable difference between his CAL and CPL play. |
DAR As with all the other players, da bears has had a consistent damage per round statistic at both the CPL and in CAL, but once again, it has been higher in CAL. Of the selected CAL matches, his highest was 96.6 and his lowest was 58.9. The average of these matches was 77.6. In CPL terms, da bears’ DAR didn’t have a very high maximum at 79.8. The average of these totals was 69.36. The difference between these totals is very much like Ksharp’s except that it’s at a lower level of damage.
FPR and ARF In terms of frags per round, da bears is once again consistent, but there
is a noticeable difference between CAL and the CPL. The difference between
the two averages it around .5 with CAL receiving .656 and the CPL getting
.608. The ARF of the selected matches is almost identical. An ARF of 50%
is the highest that da bears receives, but there is only a 2% difference
between the average ARFs of CAL and CPL play.
2F, 3F, 4F
For da bears, two-frag rounds are his biggest statistic and he performs
in both the events that this article has studied. He totaled 19 of these
in selected CAL matches with the highest being five in one match. He
has also gotten five total three-frag rounds in the selected CAL matches
along
with two four-frag rounds.
He performs fourteen two-frag rounds
in the total of selected CPL matches along with four three-frag rounds. All
in all, da bears totals 18 multi-frag rounds at the CPL and 26 multi-frag
rounds in CAL of the matches that were studied.
In the end, it must be remembered that
these statistics compare from when da bears was on two different teams
and the entire team does matter
in
a high
level of play in the CAL medium. The difference of rosters between
WEW and U5 is very noticeable, but da bears’ numbers are very consistent
so it does not seem to make a difference.
