I bet you did not think it was possible to do each of those things in a single round, but I have got the secrets on how to do so! Defending Bombsite B as a Counter-Terrorist General Knowledge: - To get as many kills as you can - To do as much damage to the remaining Terrorists as possible - To keep the terrorists busy trying to kill you, as long as you can to give your team more time to roll without the Terrorists getting into any type of defensive positioning Defending the Hard Rush: If you have a rifle, your best bet is to flash and grenade the hallway as soon as you get into the site. Unless the Terrorists get a great B spawn, you will want to have your first flash explode by the 36-second mark on the clock. There are a few different combinations of grenade throwing you can try to stop a hard B rush. Use whichever works best for you through trial and error. The first is to throw a flashbang deep into the hall, and then follow it up by throwing a High Explosive grenade short into the archway, in the site. In a worst case scenario, one or two rushers may not get blind. However, the HE in the doorway will damage and “stun” them, halting the entire rush. The HE is very powerful in this situation due to the fact that, if hit by it, it causes you to move slowly for a second. The hallway is narrow enough that if the lead rusher gets paralyzed, everyone behind him will be caught in a traffic jam situation. This creates confusion among the Terrorists and allows you to either get into a better position, or to use your stellar aim and spray at them, hoping to do some serious damage. The pro is that the flash may blind some of the rushers. In addition, the HE will damage the lead rushers, causing them to halt. This will give you time to get into a position, or to take your chances at killing a few of the damaged lead rushers. The con is that the flash will not blind the lead rushers with the proper Terrorist spawn, and although the HE may damage and slow a lead rusher, it is still likely they can hit a great shot, and take you out quickly. If you feel like taking a risk, you can peek into the hallway, right after the second flashbang and hope to catch a couple Terrorists blind or looking the other way. This will enable you to kill a few, or at least cause them significant damage. I am very against throwing any grenades before moving into the back area of the site, if you are alone. First, it will take you longer to throw your grenades from such a close position and then move into the back area of the site. This extra one to two second delay may be all it takes for a Terrorist to spot you and signal your position to his teammates. Even if you are hiding, they can HE grenade you as they rush, and knowing your position, they are more likely to get the first shot on you. If you play with two people in site B and set up crossfire, there is no need for the person playing further back in the site to throw the grenades anyway. The person playing to the side of the doorway or close in the corner by the box should be throwing the grenades as they enter the site and move towards their position. If the Ts decide to do a slow rush and you have a rifle, your best bet is to play on the platform. My recommendation is to stay crouched behind the big box. When crouched behind this box, you are not visible, and the Terrorists cannot spam you at all. It is possible to spam through this box from the perpendicular sides, but not from a parallel side. As seen in the picture below, you can stay crouched with a flashbang ready. The obvious negative is that the Terrorists could very well walk into the site without your knowledge and catch you by surprise. I do not expect this to happen very often. Most teams, when rushing site B, will throw various grenades to blind the CTs from any position. When you hear the grenades coming, he should launch the flashbang, and when it explodes, pop out and take them down. The only time I would be worried about the Terrorists sneaking into the site without the CTs knowing, would be if a single man were flanking on a rush to site A, or if there were a fake rush to site A and one or two people came to B with the bomb. Either way, if it looks like they are rushing site A, always quick peek the hall, or pop out ready to take someone down before rotating. An Arctic Warfare Magnum is a great choice for defending B. The problem is you may not always be able to afford it, since you are likely to die a lot defending the site. When you do have an AWP, the obvious choice is to go back on the platform behind the crate or rock. With the new point-of-view in one of the latest updates, you can see much farther over objects when behind them, but very little of you is visible to others. In this position, you have an obvious advantage. There is a great technique to practice that can be used in many situations, especially the following. When focusing on the hallway with your AWP, after taking your first shot at a Terrorist, immediately crouch down. While crouched, strafe left or right as much as you can, without becoming visible on either side. Continue to pop up again, crosshair at the same level, and immediately take a quick shot when back in the upright position. Do not overuse this, as the Ts may catch on and keep two people focused on you, with the intention of a pick. If you feel as though the Terrorists are beginning to enter the site, alert your teammates and throw flashbangs straight up into the air to blind the Terrorists as much as possible. Constant communication between you and your teammates is always a necessity, and it will be most beneficial to call how many Terrorists you see at all times, and what guns they have (e.g. AWP or AK47). Things to watch out for: Be careful not to get killed by a bug that can affect you while on the back of the platform. If you move back too far, you will “sink” into the ground and not be able to see over the rock. However, since this is a POV bug, the Terrorists can still see your head. Many think the corner shown here is a great place to hide in and pop out, or let Terrorists pass. However, if a terrorist moves their crosshairs over the corner, your name will pop-up, and you will be exposed. |
