Counter-Strike: Joeker's Guide to Bombsite B - Dust2

Positions:

Let us start off with the Terrorist watching for the flank from the halls. There are really only two spots to effectively guard this area from. The first is the hallway from the terrorist spawn that leads into the halls. Playing back, crouched around the corner, tends to be unchecked territory by Counter-Terrorists feverishly trying to get into the bombsite. The other spot is behind the column by the barrels. The best way to play this is to hide behind it at the angle shown, and then pop out. Repeat this process until it is no longer necessary or if the remaining Counter-Terrorists have been spotted in another area.

Now we will discuss positioning inside the site. In short, this involves setting up in spots to create crossfire and “bait” techniques. Below you can see the various positions:

Generally speaking, you want to avoid letting people peek in the window from the rock outside, and killing you in any position. This setup makes a Counter-Terrorist coming through the window commit, before he has a chance to fire at anyone.
Playing under the window at this angle allows you to spot a Counter-Terrorist without him being able to take a good shot at you. In fact, he can barely even see you. The platform position in back can be played either on the box or from the ground, as long as the main idea of peeking from either is used.
Never stay stationary with a view of the door, but be sure to constantly be peeking and hiding. If the Terrorist guarding the flank goes down, it should be the job of the person playing in the back of the platform to watch the hallway, from that area. If this is to occur, the Terrorist playing behind the big box on the platform should shift into the corner by the hallway. This will allow him to still keep an eye on the doors, but also catch any flankers who get into the site.

The main role of the player sitting behind the platform box is to essentially bait his teammates, but in a smart way. He should stay hidden here until it is time to engage, never peeking. If he hears fire coming from the doors, he should pop out with focus there. If the player under the window needs help with the window, the player behind the platform box should help him out. However, helping at the window presents a greater risk, as you can only see it by moving up onto the platform. In turn, this exposes you to the doors. Thus, the position should be played with care, as you are the “center” of the setup.

Playing the back of the platform requires discipline and a quick reaction time. On one hand, you need to not be greedy when keeping an eye on the door from the back. On the other hand, you have to peek it just enough to keep them afraid of coming in. As stated above, you need to be very aware of your surroundings. You should know who is watching the flank, and if you see them go down, you need to immediately shift focus to the hallway.

Finally, we come to playing behind the box. This spot requires fast reflexes and tight aim. I like to switch back and forth between focusing on the window and the door. Personally, I think it is more important to prevent someone from coming in the window and getting into the back of the site, as they can potentially run in the window quickly, and drop into the corner safely. It never hurts to spam some shots through the doors, as well, to keep the Counter-Terrorists worried about which way to look, when entering. In any event, be ready to take on enemies incoming from either entrance.

Well folks, that is all for this installment of my guide directed at everything it takes to have success in every aspect of the game in Dust2's site B. Some of this may seem like common sense, or be information that you already know, but hopefully it was a fun read and you got something out of it, no matter how seemingly insignificant.
