Counter-Strike: Brooks` WEG2 Diary #2

By: Stuart Brooks - Published June 13, 2005 at 3:14 AM EDT - Writer Archive
GotFrag's own Stuart Brooks checks in from WEG2005 Season 2 in Korea for his second diary entry. Come inside to see what some of the players have been up to.
Well, it has been a while since I last checked in for a diary entry. A lot has happened since my last. I went to lunch with Begrip a few days ago, and I found out that Calippo has a love affair with chicken. We went to probably the best place around here, called Uncle 29's. All six of us had a version of the fajitas there, and they were amazing. I think the only problem with that place was that they charged seven bucks for a glass of beer. At least it was good beer, though.

After dinner, Andy (Begrip's manager) and I decided to walk back to the hotel, while the rest of his team wanted to take a cab. With that much food, we needed to walk it off. When we arrived at the hotel, I saw my good friends masternook and exodus from GamerCo. They made fun of my cut from the bar chair (who has not?!), and said they were going for some pizza. Most of us had a fairly early evening. as we had to wake up at 8 a.m. to catch the bus to the studio.

In the morning, the players had started to arrive on the bus, but apparently too many people came on the bus. Christal then kicked off a few of those not slated to play that day. I told you she was mean! Well, the matches began and I used Andy's computer to update the scores, because mine still does not like it here in Korea. A few of the players went down to McDonald's because of the three dollar Big Mac meal from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. For three bucks, you cannot beat that kind of grease. After the day of matches, a few of us were talking about NoA and how they were going home early. It surprised a few of us and did not surprise the others. Mikey So came up to me and said that was his last CS game. I hope he was kidding. Mikey is a great player and all-around good guy. Hopefully he changes his mind.

On the bus ride back, Element from 4K came up to me, asking if I wanted to drink again that night. I cannot turn down anything from that cute little Norwegian. Sadly, I did not end up going with them that night, but was I glad. 4K did not get home from that legendary night of partying until about an hour before they had to leave for Sunday's matches. When I saw Element and Akuji, I just had to laugh. They looked horrible and still very drunk. From what Element told me, he said that he was almost killed that night in the club they were at. Apparently Element was dancing with the wrong girl and some dude had a bat. Luckily they all got away safely to tell us their night of debauchery.

I was at the World e-Sports Games office, working on some GotFrag stuff for five or six hours, and CAN and I had some delicious Domino's pizza. It was of the triple cheese variety, and very “tastelicious.” After I got back around midnight, we headed to the bar where we saw Andy and Christal from WEG. We talked for a while, before all of us headed to our rooms to get some sleep for the next day.

As I have already said earlier, Element and most of 4K were not in the best shape, and it made for some good bus talk on the way to the studio. When we arrived at the studio, we had about an hour and a half to kill before the first match of the day. A whole bunch of us went to McDonald's for breakfast. Astralis’ natu and I shared a romantic breakfast, as they gave us our food on the same tray. All we needed was some Barry White music and some candles, and who knows what could have happened. Chicka-chicka-bow-wow. I watched all the matches in the studio that day, and on my way back to pick up the camera, Element said 'Hey Baby,' and grabbed my ass. Somehow, I was strangely aroused. It scared me.

I was hanging around the lounge with the GamerCo players when they all decided to go to the bathroom. I do not know why they decided to go as a group, but in a few short minutes they started to giggle like little school girls. This is what transpired: The GamerCo guys were screwing around with a bidet (one of those things that clean your behind), and ph33r unknowingly walked into its attack hitting him square in the face. That alone is quite hilarious, but when he went back to look at it again, it was still spraying at him. Apparently water and ph33r do not mix. Make sure to make fun of him for getting hit in the face with water that cleans your rear. I do not think I had laughed that hard in quite some time, and I do a lot of idiotic things (do I need to mention the bar chair incident?). I talked to Team EG for a while after their 4K match, discussing what we were going to do that night. While getting some food with EG, I think every single person was staring at blackpanther. I do not think any of them had ever seen a black person before in their lifetime, and our little group was attracting lots of attention, while just walking through the shopping center. We saw a group of teenagers who were dressed like “thugs.” I actually think they straightened their hats and tucked in their shirts when blackpanther walked past them. It was pretty hilarious.

I hung out for a while downstairs after we got back from the studio and took a nap. Something about a power nap makes you feel so much better. It was great. I woke up and went to lunch at the Colonel's (KFC) place. After that I met up with CAN from WEG and headed to the WEG office. Alex from WEG has the sweetest phone I have ever seen. It has video, mp3 capability, and blows my 4 year old phone out of the water. I even think it has the laser guns to do it.

Until next time,

Brooks

P.S - Ola will be going down next time we drink. It is my pledge to you GotFrag readers.
