GotFrag recently had the chance to sit down and talk with two of Begrip Gaming's players, isKall and Calippo. Begrip is currently competing in WEG2005 Season 2 and have already clinched a spot in the Semi-Finals. Come inside to see what these two stars have to say! First off, could you please introduce yourself to those of us who don't know you? Begrip: Hi! Our names are Jonas "Calippo" Nilsson and Fredrik "IsKall" Persson and we play in Team Begrip Gaming, currently attending WEG Season 2. Calippo, could you describe the feeling of placing so well at Winter CPL after being knocked into the lower bracket so early? Calippo: It was really fun placing so high at CPL with such a new team. I personally think it’s easier to play in the lower bracket since you don’t have to wait like eight hours between the games, which makes it easier to stay focused. isKall, how would you compare this Begrip team to your old EYE team that won CPL? What are the differences? isKall: There is no main differences between the teams, maybe the EYE team had more experienced players. Begrip has shown that they really want to win WEG2. Do you guys have any special way to prepare for matches? Begrip: We just go through all the strats and try to stay focused and do our thing. One match at the time. You guys recruited three players who were relatively unknown to the international CS community. What made you guys want these players? Begrip: We knew these three players were the best that we could recruit at the time. We had had our eyes on these players for a while. Begrip is currently sponsored by Steelpad. What are your favorite Steelpad products and why? Calippo: The Steelpad S&S Mousepad isKall: Steelpad QCK Mousepad and the Steelpad 5H Headsets. How do you feel about the e-sports community right now? Is it as professional as it could be or does it need more work? Begrip: It’s growing all the time, but the most important thing is that the teams have to act professional. That includes not breaking contracts without any action taken. How does your team feel about WEG right now? Is it the future of gaming? Begrip: We think it’s good because you can have a bad day and still make it to the next finals, and it’s a lot of time to practise and prepare for the upcoming matches so we think it’s the future of gaming. What do you and isKall think about f0rest? How is he so good at the tender age of 17? Begrip: Its hard to say why he is so good but I guess he has it in his blood, the desire to win, the hunger for learning the game even better. What do you think is the key to Begrip's success here at WEG? Begrip: Teamplay and confidence in our game. If it was down to a 1 vs. 1 in the WEG finals, what player would you want in that situation? Why? Calippo: I want IsKall to be in that 1 vs. 1. isKall: I want f0rest to be in that 1 vs. 1. What has been your favorite tournament you have attended and why? Calippo:isKall: CPL Summer and Winter 2004 because of the professional attitude towards the game. Sweden is known for having some of the best players in CS. Why do you think Sweden excels at CS and gaming in general? Begrip: We have good connections, and we have smart team leaders who are willing to put time into making new tactics and taking the game to a different level. Have you guys been enjoying your time at WEG? What have you and the guys been doing while in Korea? Begrip: We are really happy with our stay here in Korea, we haven’t actually done that much just the regular stuff like practising and enjoying ourselves. Could you describe the feeling of playing in a studio and having your CS matches broadcasted around a country that embraces gaming? Begrip: It’s a really big step for eSports and it’s really fun to play when you know a lot of people are watching. Do you think having a good manager is one of the keys to being successful in the current form of eSports? Why or why not? Begrip: Of course it’s a key since you have to keep the players focused on just playing and performing on the top. It’s also very important since they get all the sponsors who help us to travel around the world. Thank you for your time, guys. I wish you the best of luck in the next group stage. Any last words? Calippo: I wanna say hello to 0tp, 1g, lgs.se and thanks for the interview. isKall: Thanks for the interview, we both wanna thank our sponsors Softtrading, Subway, Stable-X and our organisation Begrip Gaming for making this possible. |
