TGS and 3D Terroarized Gaming Syndicate ![]() Starting lineup Chris "Carnage" Griffith Elliot "Elian" Hancock Yanniv "Voltron" Bendahan Tim "Strife" Shorthouse Matt "xhero" Schlegel Brent "shmoozy" CamaraRecent Accomplishments CAL-I playoffs season 14 CAL-P Playoff finalist season 13 3 Past CPL's as eQ or StL Team Info TGS has a long history starting as StL in CAL-im, where they picked up most of the players they currently have. During their first season in CAL-p, they changed names to equilibrium, and then later changed their name to reflect the gaming syndicate they joined. This team is spread mostly across the Midwest US, but with players like Strife in Canada and Voltron in Texas, they rarely get a chance to LAN as team unless its something major like the CPL. Recent Changes Octoparrot went inactive for school, but xhero returned to active play. Shmoozy was added to complete a 6 man-rotating lineup. IceCream's Analysis TGS is one of the nicest groups of gentlemen in the invite community. These guys had a solid run last season with several close wins that their extra practice earned them. TGS comes prepared, plays hard, and usually walks away a humble winner. They picked up Octoparrot last season that added a new level of skill to the team. With him they racked up some impressive wins. The most impressive showing wasn't even a win at all though, but instead a tie on nuke versus 3D. Unfortunately Octoparrot is no longer going to be active and xhero will be replacing him. It will be interesting to see how well xhero can play after his time off. The best word I can think of to describe the play of TGS is steady. They don't get rattled easily, and are almost always in a position to give them at least a good chance to outshoot their opponent. They have good skill; good enough to work through CAL-P without a problem, but it’s not at the world-class level. They are fully aware of their abilities and this mature, 18+ team are not blinded by CS egos. Instead they bring solid strats and timing along with a few surprises that will catch teams off guard. Taking advantage of other teams mistakes seems to be commonplace for TGS. A team may rush an area, take out the two players they expected to be there, and then let down their guard. When that happens you'll usually see a 3rd TGS player that was in an original setup surprise them and take down 3-4 guys. This type of play won't blow out very many teams at the CAL-i level, but I do expect them to keep getting enough rounds to win a lot of matches. It only takes 16 rounds to put another "W", something that TGS has become very good at. 3D - Desire, Discipline, Dedication ![]() Starting lineup Ronald "Rambo" Kim Kyle "Ksharp" Miller Griffin "ShaGuar" Benger Michael "method" So Sal "Volcano" Garozzo Josh "Dominator" SieversRecent Accomplishments 2nd Place CAL-I season 14 9th-16th at ESWC Team Info North Americas most famous team with top players from across the continent. Over three years in existence with international success and even being considering the top team in the world at one point. Recent Changes Added Dominator at the end of last season, as well as Method and Shaguar between seasons. Boms and cBz are no longer with the team. IceCream's Analysis The CS community has been buzzing since the addition of Method and Shaguar. How good is 3D going to be? Very good. Are they better than complexity? Maybe. Should coL be worried? They better be, because 3D looks to be back in the form that made them a superpower of CS. This last year, 3D went through some changes adding players like volcano and boms. They're both amazing players without a doubt, but very few players in the world have ever been at the top of the CS world and held a #1 ranking. They found that rare trait in Method and Shaguar. Now 3D is back to having 4 players who at one point have been on the #1 team instead of #2. As talented as Volcano and Dominator are, they now become just roll players as they learn what it takes to be #1 and keep it. They've both had a taste and been close with past teams, but now they should be able to experience it first hand. The in game style of 3D should change slightly as well. They now have a 6-man roster that has 2 incredible AWPers and 4 riflemen. This guarantees that they will always have shag or ksharp in the game, giving them at least 1 world-class AWP. If they both play, then you can expect to see a more dynamic set of CT setups as ksharp and shaguar both mix up positions switching from AWP and rifle play throughout a match. Shaguar and Method also have seen a new perspective on CS after playing on NoA with some top Europeans. This makes a smart 3D team even smarter and more dangerous. There is a lot that we could speculate about this team, but I won't say anymore until I see them play. Instead I'll sit back and wait, excited to see how they do. |
