Underestimated and Check Six Underestimated ![]() Starting lineup David "zid" Chin Brian "Birdy" Magee Garrett "VandaL" Allen David "IceCream" Burke Michael NelsonRecent Accomplishments 4th Place CAL-I season 14 CEVO-P Playoffs Team Info Underestimated started in CAL-O as a local San Antonio team. Each season the team moved up one division through all five steps in CAL (Open, intermediate, main, premier, and invite). There have been several changes in the roster along the way with the current roster having four players in San Antonio and Mike Nelson in Houston. Karpov's Analysis I like Underestimated a lot. The whole team is down to earth and has yet to transcend into that im in CAL-Invite so I'm going to be aloof status. Chances are you could PM them and they would respond to your messages -- with that said pm VandaL and ask him to join. Underestimated surprised everyone last season by placing 4th in CAL-Invite. Will Underestimated be able to repeat this season? Sorry men, I don't see it happening due to the upped ante of competition in CAL-Invite for Season 15. Perhaps a better question is will UE be able to compete? I say yes. Underestimated is a team built on spur of the moment chemistry fueled by solid individual play. They seem to feed off each other and go with the moments flow rather than practicing with any regularity or engaging in any of the habits that normal teams do (this was the case last season at least -- and it worked well for them.) Underestimated has a local lineup without any terribly big names. The entire team assumes a role player status and subsequently does not have any egos or control issues (that I’m aware of at least.) This is probably UE's biggest advantage going into the season. Their laid back attitude will give them enough drive (while avoiding burnout) to make it through the season and eventually into the playoffs. Side Note: IceCream will throw any UE match (intentionally lose that is) for 5 drinks at the bar. So be sure to offer him a few rounds before playing UE on Thursdays and Sundays. Check Six ![]() Starting lineup Derek "Titus" Clark Mike "BLACKLISTED" Connolly Charlie "cbz" Pyo Anthony "m4gic" Coriale Andy "reCTOOOR" RectorRecent Accomplishments 2nd CAL-I season 13 3rd ESWC US finals CEVO playoffs season 1 Team Info This current Check Six team was formerly zEx, until deciding to join x6 to have the chance to attend international LANs. The current team is spread along the east coast from Virgina to Connecticut. Recent Changes i0nZ was recently removed from the team and replaced with Connolly. rector also decided to part ways with the team, and patel is inactive due to World of Warcraft. The team readds Andy "reCTOOOR" Rector back to the team and adds Charlie "cbz" Pyo of Team 3D and Anthony "m4gic" Coriale of Green Berets. IceCream's Analysis The history of zEx is filled with some of the most skilled players to play in the US such as Volcano, Shaguar, Destrukt, and many many others. Now as Check Six they still have the same setup. The ridiculous skill of this team carries them to continuous success and their current #7 North American ranking. When this team puts in some serious time practicing, they easily play better than their ranking making them one of the best in North America. This was shown in their last season in CAL, season 13. That season they finished 2nd behind Complexity but in front of teams like 3D. The in game play of Check Six is very skilled like I said above. Their team play has more adaptive team strats as CT compared to from what I've seen from most CAL-I team. Most teams at any level of CS will have each guy cover the same spot on a map as CT's. The only change would be covering that spot from a few different positions. Check Six does this, but as the half progresses, they adapt to the tendencies of teams better than most. You'll see them push up and check spots that teams usually do not go to. Once they confirm that area is clear then they have fewer spots to watch. Sometimes you will also see pushes behind teams allowing them some easy kills. This ability to adapt causes Check 6 to take more rounds late in the half even if they started out poorly. |
