United 5 and Weekend Warriors United 5 ![]() Starting lineup Lance "t0oL" McCrary Corey "kam" Hanes Risasi "kmode" Coffee Mike "CuZ" Nang Josh DerosaRecent Accomplishments 8th CPL Brazil 2005 9th-12th Summer CPL 2005 4th GGL Americup Team Info The current team is a mix of west coast and central talent. CuZ and kmode, from the former DiE team, are from Los Angeles while the rest of the team being located in the Central US. A great sponsorship allows them to still get together for major LANs. Recent Changes Patyojon and Da_bears are no longer part of the team and Batman has gone inactive. Derosa and t0oL are relatively new to the team. IceCream's Analysis This lineup brings an amazing level of talent to any match. 1v1 they are all among the best in CAL-i. The in game strategy and leadership hasn't been the same since moses left the team though. With so many roster changes this will probably be the main obstacle for the in game play of u5. Time will be against them because the season is coming soon. Hopefully they will start strong enough to give them a good shot at playoffs once they work out any problems they may have. Weekend Warriors ![]() Starting lineup Matt "Patyojon" Iantosca Bobby "Keen" Aihama Johnny "Boms" Quach Steve "s0ulz" Loh Cyrus "orGasmo" HabiBiRecent Accomplishments 2nd NewEgg Lanfest 1st CSA Online/LAN event Team Info One of the longest standing teams in the CS community is based entirely out of the Los Angeles area. Recent Changes Jout has gone inactive and three new members have been added: Boms, Patyojon, and Keen. IceCream's Analysis Boms left 3D for WEW? Yes. To the common fan that may be confusing because of how popular 3D is. I have to believe that being on a local team was a big reason for boms choice. Add in patyojon and keen, and you now have 5 players local to the Los Angeles area. These guys have been successful in recent LANs, which is impressive with such a new lineup. Loh and Habibi are still around and we can't forget that those two have a CAL-i title under their belt from season 12. In my final team review in this article it has become obvious that all the west coast players and teams have one thing in common. Skill, skill, and more skill. I think WEW leads the west coast in talent and has some very successful players to back up that ability. Everyone on this team has at least a CAL-I title or a top 5 CPL finish. That’s impressive. Fast play and a great rifle play would be the logical expectation, but with such a new lineup, I'll let their actions speak louder than my words. I see a top 5 finish in the future for WEW this season. |
