you have it backwards dude. if your fps were higher that other number would be higher. remember that if you create your own server you will have much higher fps than if youre playing on a real server.

different spots on a map yield different fps :X

also things affecting fps for those things

1) background programs running
2) players on the server
3) you're in the middle of a smoke?

if im not mistaken u shouldn't get higher fps than ur stress test.. i stress test at like 280 fps, and i get around 160 pretty constent.

Im guessing that you've been experienceing the FPS loss since valve added HDR lightng to dust1. Try turning it off in the options > video> advanced> menu. As far as i know, there is no server command to limit FPS, if turning off HDR lighting doesnt work, create a LAN game and run the map and see if you still get the fps loss.

havent hdr
if i create server for exemple de_dust 2 i have 100+ fps..
but on server where is tickrate 66/66 i have max 66fps :X > 100tick .. 100fps and less
cl_updaterate > tickrate
cl_cmdrate > max fps from server
It is like synchronization...

another thing:
- smokes having now larger demands from pc?!

Your "OUT:" is going to be limited by either your cl_cmdrate or your FPS, whichever is lower at that time. Since you say your cl_cmdrate is 100, therefore its being limited by your CLIENT FPS, not the server.

Here is a site that will explain it some more for you.
