MLG launches PC Circuit. if MLG plays everything right like they have been for the past who knows how long then they could not only make everyone want to join their league but end CGS. As you all know MLG is backed by the heavy pocketed Microsoft and in the last year has been buying everything in sight including spots on ESPN, G4TV, Gotfrags website and countless other major media vendors where CGS continues to decline.
If MLG announces a world wide FPS (CS1.6 maybe) and puts out a nicer contract than CGS (entirely easy for microsoft) then this is and will be most likely CGS's last year. And or MLG just buys out CGS (one of microsofts favorite things to do trounce the little guy).
So does everyone also think CGS is finished...I don't give it much longer tbh Jan. 09 MLG will be gamings major league and once console/pc/Euro and America are all combined again into one mass group we can start shooting for Baseball/Football's fansize/base.
first i was like "wow you are a d00che", but if MLG is truly successful with their PC circuit (which i doubt), they could definitely buy out CGS as a competitor.
Im pretty sure VALVe never ever sold or refuse 1.6 license. There was an itw with doug lombardi where he said he never heard of that. http://www.readmore.de/index.php?cont=art..
Valve refused to let CGS use 1.6 as they hoped putting Source (forcing source so to speak) on the competitive community would make them more money. Sadly all it did was split the population as the Europians weren't sellouts (except zet).
They don't see a reason to put 1.6 on TV and wouldn't allow it as itd make Valve no money at all.
I heard from a very reliable source whom use to work for GF and was working for CGS before he parted ways because CGS couldn't uphold their promises that this is most likely the last season for CGS... Believe me, or don't believe me... Just passing it on... I could care less, e-sports have been dead for years...
Ever wonder why the CGS crew is almost 100% different from last season?
#6 that was a horrible interview. doug lombardi is the sneakiest fvcker on all his interviews, especially the one on cs nation about ads. what a dumbfvck. "ya uhhh source and 1.6 are two different games, you know different engines, different specs". so what do you think about promod? "uhhhmmm i don't really understand why they're doing it". YOU DUMB@SS. YOU JUST SAID THEY'RE TWO DIFFERENT GAMES. OBVIOUSLY PROMOD IS TO BRING 1.6 GAMEPLAY/ENGINE MECHANICS ONTO SOURCE ENGINE. valve, get a fvcking clue. if they ever make CS2, i can bet it'll be different enough that even the most ardent source supporters in the past will be like "wtf...."
no one will watch wow and they will go back to consoles. and thats where american esport will belong in the future. even cgs should drop their pc titles. the console cod4 is more popular than cs, and fifa looks so much better on the 360.
#10 u sir are a moron. i played COD4 on console, and it is NOT MORE POPULAR, it can NOT be played at LAN.... are u stupid... the LAN is so screwed up that is why they don't use it on the pro circuit. pzlate, learn what you speak of before you throw out your words of wisdom
#12 CGS had better ratings than everyone expected, so that wouldn't be a problem.
Ontopic I don't care who wins, as long as the better league wins and it has source tbh. And i DO hope the better takes over the worse, 1 league is better than 2.
CGS already has the network to air what they want. But I'm sure MLG's 30 minute MTV special would be way better than an entire season on a huge satellite company.
if you think 1.6 will ever be in a league in the usa on tv your just crazy they wont put a game that looks that old and crappy on tv its the USA people were always looking for the next "hot" thing not the old but still good things.
Lmao if they buy out CGS then they can definately afford to keep CGS running for the next who knows how many years. Sorry to break your ignorance bubble cutie.
um #22 way to not do any research at all. G4TV did a whole season showing HALO 2 MLG pro season 07 on AIR. Every night on fridays at 11pm est. It was awesome, their broadcasters actually knew about the players, and it didnt even seem like they were reading off of a card.
Also WoW is not going to fail considering if you do play WoW you will be interested and the mass is bigger in WoW than any other game out now (im pretty sure :X) so they will still get viewers. Think of it this way...if you play fps games would you rather watch FPS or WoW. Now if you play WoW would you rather watch WoW or CS? More WoW players = more viewers. Also the reason why they didnt put CS on there was because they were being sponsored by DELL and I am 80% sure that Dell picked the game they wanted to be played because cmon...be reasonable If someone gives you 32 computers that are $5000 a piece do you think your going to be picking out the game?
This is CGS's last year!
MLG is the same sh it as CGS, they support games that arnt competitive but just played by the mass.
The problem is they can't use 1.6 atm because Valve owns the license and refuses to allow 1.6 on TV....what would be the simple fix?
Microsoft buys Valve...puts 1.6 on the MLG Circuit for PC.
Guess how fast CGS teams come back.

#7 You're so wrong and misinformed lol ...
They don't see a reason to put 1.6 on TV and wouldn't allow it as itd make Valve no money at all.
