They'd both win their own game if they were of the same skill level compared to their peers in their own game.
The only thing that's really alike with source and 1.6 is the guns, the maps and the damage that the guns do and shit. The grenades are even thrown different and the crouching is different now, too. I don't really see how people can compare Source and 1.6. It's just because they share Counter-Strike at the beginning, really. I kind of think comparing Source and 1.6 is like comparing halo 3 and Gears of War.

my team scrimmed a 1.6 team and we won... but then again i started playing cs before you were born so that may explain it.
this kid orlock started in 1.6, reads gotfrag posts and thinks it will make him known if he bashes source and thinks its cool to do. i never even got into 1.6 because its so terrible, i quit after WON was shut down and 1.5 was not playable and then decided to try something new and get back into cs when source came out. anyone whos been playing for a while will agree that 1.6 is terrible in comparison to older versions.
source is more fun than 1.6 in my opinion, but none the less if 1.5 was still around or somehow came back into competition, i would drop source for it in a heart beat
