#1 only the Day of Defeat: Source BETA has been released some people have the update and it's been confirmed that:
The new beta contains: - added Dod_Palermo, updated map based on Dod_Salerno by Insta - added Steamworks features, including achievements and player avatars - added Nemesis and Revenge - added Freeze Cam - friendly players no longer collide with each other - many particle systems have been improved - changed the algorithm for bullet spread to be more like the original Day of Defeat - reduced Garand recoil - View position is now adjusted when zoomed with rifles and sniper rifles to help with player visibility around corners
so expect (or at least hope for) similar features for Counter-Strike: Source.
I got the beta and i see counter strike source beta in the games list in the server menu but i don't see it on the "My games" list. I can't use the server thing because when I get a list of all the servers and stuff it clogs my internets hardcore.
JESUS HE WAS JOKING IT JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW RETARDED YOU ALL ARE. HE CLEARLY STATED THAT THE SOURCE BETA IS BEING RELEASED... Ok now back to normal typing, I really cannot believe that you people are that retarded.
-defusal kit getting in the way of defusing -objects blocking doors -crab walking when you plant the bomb
o and actually being able to spam thru stuff would be a nice improvement but i dont think thats gonna happen (45 dmg thru glass with an awp to the chest is ridiculous)
How can there be a source beta when there's already been a source beta, you idiots... that steam client parcipation just lists the old source beta as a game.
If and when the multicore support/orange box engine is ported to source it will just be an update and that will be the end of it, they wouldn't need to beta it -.-
even if css is ported to the orange box engine it doesn't do anything.
the only thing that is multicore possible on OBEngine is the particles effect... its better than nothing i guess... hopefully they don't put css servers @ 66 ticrate (like in TF2).
CS:S Engine Update BETA Comi
This is it, Valve is going to start BETA for CS:S and DOD:S Engine UPDATE.
Main change will be to switch over Orange Box Source Engine !
Interpolate bug, multicore support etc is finally coming.
Heard it first :)
Quick Check :
Start Steam - Settings ->
Beta Participation : Steam Client Candidate
Restart Steam -> STEAM Server - Game list :

EDIT: CSS BETA Screenshot proof http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/4121/4..
edit : i don't see any difference... :(
You mean this?
I still don't get what the Source beta thing is though in the server list.
And since we're on the topic of retarded questions, what's the deal with the legacy downloads in the 1.6 section of this site?
if you go to server filter you can select beta but no servers show-not released for source yet!
THIS MEANS NO BUNNY HOPPING!

Nowhere does it say it is improving ANYTHING for CSS.

Here's the exact same thread you posted. But wait, look, the mod even says "I wouldn't count on a CSS beta".
shurrup you stupid ass candadian.
I don't know, but could you try thinking of something other than an upgrade to a different source engine?
If and when the multicore support/orange box engine is ported to source it will just be an update and that will be the end of it, they wouldn't need to beta it -.-

Just because it already had a beta, doesn't mean it can't have another one, you stupid fu/cking english yellow teethed squeeky voiced faggot.
LATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
That Source beta has been in the server filter list since source beta was out when using the beta participation on steam...
#35 my flag is the flag of the UK... not England.
#36 yea he is on a troll.
