Counter-Strike Source: GotFrag Checks-In at EverLAN

By: Calvin Lin - Published January 21, 2006 at 9:47 AM EST - Writer Archive
GotFrag has arrived on-site at EverLAN and its time for matches to begin.
After a long night, GotFrag is settled in here in Denver at the EverLAN event. Day one was spent getting things setup as the tournament admins were busy making sure the network and computers are ready to go for today's matches. The network as of now is not completely working yet which is preventing us from hooking up SourceTVs to the servers and accessing the servers through FTP to obtain the demos. Scorebots will be fully functional, but demos and SourceTV will not be available and GameSense statistics will not be released until the network is fixed.

Twenty five of the twenty seven registered teams have shown up at the event, with the two teams not in attendance being #23 Realize Your Demise and #24 wat? gaming. Seeds 25-27 have been bumped up two spots, and the top seven seeds will be receving a BYE for the first round. Here is an updated seed list:

1. PowersGaming
2. 3D
3. Verge Gaming
4. Upper
5. Hyper!
6. g3
7. CB7
8. EFG
9. Forbidden
10. Devastation
11. TEoS
12. Eminence
13. Next Chapter
14. Suave Sports
15. UGP
16. Synapse
17. D5
18. TAG
19. s4h
20. One-Eyed Zomblerz
21. Sinister (Volatile)
22. GHQ
23. Team Ministry
24. PowersGaming Ladies
25. Aphasia

With the announcement of Source at the CPL, there is a sense of excitement in the atmosphere as teams are seeing a bright future for Source. The atmosphere here at EverLAN is unique to any other LAN, in that the EverLAN organization emphasizes this is a LAN party more than just an event with a tournament.

Be sure to stick to GotFrag for exclusive coverage of EverLAN.
