CAL releases beta version of 1.6 remake de_cpl_strike for Counter Strike Source.
(USA) - The Cyberathlete Amateur League announced today the addition of the long awaited port of popular Counter-Strike map, de_cpl_stike, to the list of available maps for the league’s Counter-Strike: Source division. Over the past several months, the map has been under development by Ryan "Canadian" Crossley, but suffered multiple setbacks due to bugs and various other mapping issues. After a complete recompile to resolve a lighting issue and minor design changes, the map has finally been released for league play. However, the map currently lacks the "CPL" moniker in its title as well as logos within the map itself, apparently due to its ongoing BETA status. None-the-less, Strike has been scheduled for play in all CAL Source divisions during the first week of preseason. According to CAL-Main Head Admin Shawn Davis, de_cbble is tentatively scheduled for week six play, although Strike may replace it pending an announcement by week two.
The completion of Strike makes available the third and final official CPL Counter-Strike map for CAL’s Counter-Strike: Source division—the others being CPL_Mill and CPL_Fire.
