Elliot "Chimera" Falvert-Martin checks in on week three of CAL Europe CS:Source.
(Europe) - Week 3 in CAL-Euro hits GotFrag and not in the best way. Roughly 50% of the games scheduled to be played In CAL-E this week were defaulted. Most players that GotFrag spoke with were saying that teams were too hasty with signing up for CAL that they did not have at least 5 members in the first place . Hopefully in the weeks to come the percentage of defaults will fall dramatically. The games that were played were interesting to watch. One game in particular was Inspire-Gaming Vs Team-FatCap. Both halves were 9-6 to each team then it had to be duked out in OT where Inspire clenched the win. I caught up with Inspire's very own Bios for his own view on the game.
"This was probably the closest game Ive played in a long long time, our games vs fatcap AKA xpre are always close ones, you could of cut the tension with a knife in the final rounds, One player from FatCap Lars "h0lm" Jespersen was quite a troublesome one to take down. When we finally took the final round in OT we were relieved and surprised we had won." When asked about playing against the tough side AuxiliA next week on CPL_FIRE, Bios had this to say, "Well I never underestimate an opponent, i think its going to be a very tough game on a map that isn't that well known in Europe, i think this game will depend on how much practice both teams can put into the map prior to the game".

Team To Watch -CSA - Very well known side, even without practice this side can take on the best and hold its ground, competing in all Top leagues, this side brings game sense, aim and with two Irish players I'm sure a punch or two. Definitely a side to keep track of.
Team To Fear - Team Crossed - Again a side known in the Euro Source community for its hot shooters and good tactics but winning over 60 rounds in there last 3 games is an achievement that really shows that they can walk the walk. My own personnel experience recalls Awpers, my advice; Don't Peak At All!!

Quotes
o2^stalker - "Played the first half in an Israeli server with pings jumping up to 250 at times (160-200 usually), that ended 2:13 in favour of the opponents and we just weren't able to make a comeback from that. Hadn't practised contra either to be honest."
CSA|Hartigan - "We hadn't played as a team for nearly 2 weeks before going into this CAL-E game, due to members going on vacation, I must admit I was surprised when we did win as usually we play terribly when out of practice"
Nd`Vivid - "Although we didn't play with our original line-up things worked out fine. We started on T side and got 13 rounds so it was just good fun and Incursus are a bunch of good lads."
Again well done to all clans that played and good luck for Week 4 on CPL FIRE. Also Check out GotFrag's Brandon Mcleod's CPL FIRE Map Overview.
