By: Calvin Lin - Published February 13, 2007 at 7:50 PM EST - Writer Archive
Domination in the 2006 CS:Source LAN scene put EFG on top once again, but the entrance of several 1.6 teams into the scene has shaken up the rankings.
It is has been quite a while since the last rankings update, and much has taken place in the Source community between then and now. Several LAN tournaments have gone by, as well as a myriad of changes within organizations and teams. But when the dust is wiped away, who now stands on top of the professional competitive scene?

January brought the welcoming of several 1.6 teams to the Source competitive scene, and after just a few weeks, four have made its way into the top ten. Following a successful year, EF Gaming retained its spot on the throne while receiving just over half of the first place votes. However, newcomer compLexity has been quickly establishing a strong reputation within the Source community. Dominant play in the early weeks of CEVO led to coL earning four FPV’s and coming in second despite not having any accomplishments in the game.

verGe continues to be a dominant presence in the scene despite recent roster changes as the team was voted a solid third. Hyper’s recent play propelled them to the fourth position, well ahead of x6, who came in fifth. 3D’s roster has Source experience, but two early losses in CEVO put 3D in 6th and well behind the top four. EG has shown they can compete in Source with their new additions to the team but two forfeit wins has allowed for limited action from the EG lineup, resulting in a lower ranking.
