Now that group play has nearly come to a close the teams are about to enter bracket play for the remainder of the CGS Qualifier. The usual suspects are all present as you take a look at yesterdays results. Verge, United5, rSports all qualified along side x6.css and Forbidden among others. It seems the rules used for this tournament and devised for use in CGS play have provided for a wide range of results and some getting used to for the teams. Scores of 14-4, 15-3, even 17-1 are quite common when you examine the scoreboards from Saturday's play and prove that in this aggressive play format teams need to gain the lead and keep up the pressure if they hope to win.

The tournament is using CGS's unique rule set which consists of maximum start money, nine-round halves, and a winner-take-all sudden death overtime round. A maplist of Dust2, Inferno, Train, Contra, Nuke, and Cbble has been selected for match play. While the 1.6 tournament will be using a bracket format throughout, officials elected to use the group play format to start off the tournament and narrow down the teams.
