Second Half At the start of the second half, u5 was in command with a 5-4 lead. It may not seem like much, but for an aggressive and offensively minded team like u5 on a map that rewards that aggression and is offense sided (if only slightly) they were sitting pretty. They only increased their hold on the match by taking the first three rounds in a decisive manner. They worked Long A very heavily, first round they were able to isolate tr1p at long then surround shaGuar and Stevenson by pushing them from both long and catwalk. Grt and Lari saved their weapons. ![]() Second round, u5 sent four players quickly to long A, flashed and naded the pit, then focused on tr1p (who was at the corner). With tr1p out of the way, they made short work of Stevenson (in pit) while foogs flanked catwalk and fragged shaGuar. Grt and Lari again tried to save their guns but were hunted down. ![]() On the fourth round, EG began to make their stand. u5 had good spawns and decided to rush B, but were held off by Stevenson (in the door) and Grt (in the window) who were able to keep them from planting. ![]() EG kept themselves alive for a little bit longer with an unorthodox catwalk stack. tr1p boosted Stevenson up to peek catwalk then he and shaGuar took over playing on cat while Stevenson picked long A. At the same time Grt pushed into lower B and got on the headshot box. u5 decided to split A and were shut down as Stevenson picked both keen and hahn while shaGuar Grt and tr1p destroyed the other three u5 attackers moving up catwalk. ![]() In the next round hahn decided that enough was enough and took over the match. He flashed and rushed long A, fragging tr1p, then flashed over the corner and fragged Stevenson. From there he grabbed Stevenson's awp and quickly moved up to the Long A crossover and picked Grt in middle while his team planted the bomb in B. This round pretty much put the nail in the coffin as u5 now had a 9-6 lead. ![]() Hahn was not done yet however. u5 rushed long A on the seventh round, and learning from EG's previous stack of catwalk, hahn quickly dropped shaGuar who was again stacked up there with Stevenson and tr1p. He immediately shifted his aim to Lari who was down in middle and dropped him as well. tr1p made a valiant effort and pushed into the site getting two deagle headshots as u5 came up the A ramp. ![]() It was too little too late though, and after ben fragged tr1p he also stopped Grt and Stevenson in their tracks who both came from catwalk with awps in a last ditch effort to keep their run alive. It was a hard fought match by EG, and they never gave up even when the odds were stacked against them. u5 had their number though, and for everything EG threw at them they were right there with the answer. With this win u5 proves that their Online qualification was no fluke, and that they will definitely be a major contender at the combine. Download the demo here. |
