USA - CEVO Professional CS:Source Season 4 is about to get underway with a placement tournament. Teams will be vying for six spots in the upcoming regular season. Teams have been placed in three groups with six teams in each for a round robin style tournament. Joining the fray this time will be last season 1.6 holdouts, Pandemic and a host of former CS 1.6 and Source teams. The tournament will take place over five days starting Sunday, May 27th. This season of CEVO Pro Source takes on more importance in the fact that it will obviously be a place for Championship Gaming Series teams to play and practice. The placement tournament and subsequent regular season will also be using the new rule-set which mirrors the CGS rule-set. Nine round halves, one round overtime and $16,000 start money.

complexity won cevo, so they automatically get a spot in, hyper placed 2nd, and check-six, idk why their in it. ima have to agree with all the things #1 said, but i want zex to win it but i know thats not happening :P

ugly groups :-\ Group B is a death group. I guess group A is also. Group C is a joke :_|
could have, imo, balanced the group a little bit better. Alota good teams might not make it into cevoP :(

I Started the FURY craze!

This going to be a great seaosn this year, and will be intense seeing whos going to come out on Top 1,2,3 place. GL to all teams and half fun and keep your team togather.

I'd predict same as #1 but I think forbidden may get through in group B ahead of JMC

A should be a lock for u5 and EFG. If Vis Gaming shows up and Moe pisses off enough of his teammates, they might make EFG uncomfortable.

B is a lock for Forbidden, which currently has the second best roster in CSS. 3D should be the other team coming out of B, but they're random in Source. Terrible start to their season last year and a terrible finish, but in between those points they showed that they're still a great team. If they don't have it together, JMC could easily take that second spot.

C is just ugly. You'd hope the same EG from The Bridge will show up to the placement tournament, but with the exception of Stevenson, who is always money, and Lari, who is never money, EG is completely random. I've got to say Devastation is the other favorite to come out of C. They had a rollercoaster ride last season with the rampant roster changes and the whole Flow Gaming situation. Sasquatch and Sauce are both top quality players, and they're an easily underestimated team that can compete with anyone other than coL (who are currently in a league of their own). Pandemic looked good at The Bridge, so I wouldn't be surprised if they take a spot from EG or Dev.

Zex should've been put in that third group in place of ioG or 50 Cal.

3D and Forbidden are the two best teams in the tournament. It's a bad mistake to put them in the same group unless the group is filled with all of the teams that really don't have a shot anyway, which it isn't. 3D and Devastation or Pandemic should have been swapped. That way U5, Forbidden, and 3D, the top 3 teams by a good margin are all in different groups.

In case anyone is wondering, x6 used to be rSports and they finished 4th behind Verge until Verge got DQed, so they get to be in it automatically at #3.

It is weird to have a major source tournament and not have Verge playing though but I guess Forbidden will do.
