The Swedish player had been linked with a move to SK Gaming for the past weeks, following his use in the ESWC Pre-qualifier at Inferno Online, where SK cruised to win the tournament.

Nyberg earned rave reviews for his perfomance in the tournament, and the former 4Kings talent was even used in a bootcamp against Made in Brazil, but he insists that his future will not be in SK.

The Swedish talent says SK has other plans for the Swedish team and that a new fifth has already been found by Andreas "bds" Thorstensson.

"Looking at the CS 1.6 scene, all of the Swedish teams are full, and that includes SK," Nyberg told GotFrag.com.

"I've always had offers from 1.6 teams, but none that were really appeling."

Meanwhile, Nyberg has joined the EYEballers Counter-Strike: Source team, which plans on attending the upcoming CGS European Qualifiers in late August.

"I've been wanting to play in CGS for a long time and when I heard about the European qualifiers I thought: Why not? Here was my shot so I took it," Nyberg said.

"If we don't make it into the CGS I'm not really sure what i'll do (...)"

Nyberg teams up in EYEballers with experienced Swedish names, like Niklas "NightMan" Ruth, former member of Begrip Gaming, or Marcus "Rattan^Maja" Persson, who played for redWhite in the EuroCup tournament.

it's pathetic how most of the people slagging him off would have probably been posting "GL great player" had he have joined SK permanently.

1.6 is obviously slowly dying now - not due to source but due to valve. he's picked a good time to switch over.

#38. . I somewhat agree, but not with the past and present, I think it's more ideal to say that Source and 1.6 are different games completely. People who make the transition to Source will know that they are in a completely different game, and therefore won't have the same skills they used to have in 1.6 ..

#38 Call someone a fanboy when you personally prefer CSS. Smart argument. Regardless of the fact, I hope this turns to be a great personal decision for him. In a CS career it is an achievement, CGS regardless of using source is definitely where many people want to be and wish to earn their stripes to get there. Hope it does work for him, as this CSS squad I know nothing of the players.

1.6 isnt anywhere near dying, valve is just completely neglecting the game while CGS(money) is the only reason why people actually switch to source.
I feel bad for the bad players 1.6 and money hungry people saying that they kind of like Source.
At the end of the day, any DECENT player will choose 1.6 over source anyday.

Just think about this; Why did the majority of the 1.6 players switch to source(barely any in Europe)?

Answer: Money. People dont play source because its a well made game. They play Source because it is that much easier to learn and lets not forget the prizes CGS offers compared to any other 1.6 leagues.
