The dust has settled after the first season of CGS in North America, and all six of the CGS franchises have made their way into the top 10. LA Complexity continues to be the team to beat and there are no signs of that changing anytime soon. The San Francisco OPTX, formerly team EFGaming, has garnered a lot of praise after finishing right behind Los Angeles in the CS:Source CGS standings. The new Pandemic managed to drop only one spot by rallying to win Summer CPL’s BYOC tournament after a poor showing at the combine and a performance dry spell under the Forbidden banner.

The Carolina Core has become a major surprise thus far, as Dolven’s pick in the draft was widely viewed with skepticism--but they’ve gotten a strong start in CEVO P. The Chicago Chimera are the CGS champs, but that was mainly due to the strength of their franchise. Nonetheless, they’ve moved up in the rankings due to their title and some roster additions.

The One Eyed Zomblerz continues to sit in the middle of the rankings due to a long list of LAN accomplishments and a superb performance at the CGS combine. Hyper! remains in the top 10 despite questions about how their roster changes will affect them. New York 3D has dropped several points due to mediocre performance in the CGS and signs that they don’t seem very motivated.

Turmoil, the team widely known as Devastation, has made it back to the rankings after being dropped the last time around. Finally, the Dallas Venom were able to hold on to 10th place for the third consecutive poll—they rank just well enough to make the list, but not quite enough to be respected as a contender.
