Counter-Strike Source: mibr, g3x in CGS Latin America

By: Luis Mira - Published September 20, 2007 at 12:15 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Made in Brazil and g3nerationx have confirmed their participation in CGS Region 2 Championship.
Both squads have been invited by the CGS organization to attend the Latin American Championship, which will take place from September 20th-23rd at Mexico city.

With the CGS announcing Rio de Janeiro as one of the two Latin American team cities, g3x and mibr feel this to be a great opportunity to participate in a CGS Championship.

However, neither sides will be at their best, as Lincoln “fnx” Lau of g3nerationx and Bruno "bit" Lima of Made in Brazil saw themselves unable to participate in the event due to age restriction.

While g3x will use current manager Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci, 2006's ESWC champion has opted for Jorge “Jorginho” Elias.

Meanwhile, Made in Brazil confirmed that it has not practiced for this event and that it does not plan on switching games to Counter-Strike: Source.

"None of the players that will be at the event representing MiBR play CS: Source," Leandro "chataum" Loiola, manager in Made in Brazil, told GotFrag.com.

"We were invited by the Latin American organization and we accepted the invitation, it will be a great experience, and if our team is chosen, we will practice a lot for the final championship.

"If we are selected in the draft, we will become a CGS team and play Counter-Strike: Source, and we will create a new Counter-Strike: 1.6 team with other players."
