In the first Lower Bracket match of the Digital Life 2007 GGL Pro-Am Tournament, the San Francisco Optx were eliminated by the boys of Gravitas Gaming with a final score of 16-7.

While there weren't any amazing individual performances, Gravitas utilized smart play, map control, and accurate shooting to keep the Optx off balance. The match was played on de_inferno, and Gravitas started the game as the Counter-Terrorists. Gravitas quickly won the pistol round, and took the first 8 rounds of the match, as Optx struggled to adjust to their strategy. Optx did win the next four rounds, with good play from Yazan "clowN" Ammari and Ryan Pham, but Gravitas quickly recovered to take the last three rounds of the first half to make it 11-4.

In the second half, Gravitas picked up where they left off, winning the pistol round on T side to make it 12-4. Optx fought back, taking three rounds, but it ultimately proved futile, as Gravitas ended up winning the match. Eric "brawwr" Neer said, "We had a good amount of momentum in the first half, and that really helped us set the tone for the match."

When asked about their chances for the remainder of the tournament, Gravitas was optimistic. Justin "heatwave" McKay jokes that "It almost always happens like this, we lose our first match (they were beaten by 3D New York in their first match), and then we win in the lower bracket." brawwr concurred, stating, "Teams say, 'Oh no! Zomblerz are down there! We can't lose now!"

Well quite the surprise. I love it when original Source team lose Source competition, but can't help but feel for the Optx guys being the lone representatives although they have pham and p0s.

#5, #6, #7...You guys must have about 43 braincells COMBINED if you can't understand what he meant by that...What he was saying is that Optx originally started out as a team dedicated to Source and Source only, unlike other teams such as compLexity and JMC who were dedicated to 1.6...thus Optx being an "original Source team"...silly willies :P

lone representatives of original source teams? Gravitas (zomblerz), turmoil (devastation), hyper, and pandemic (forbidden/verge) are also original source teams in this tourney

optx lost to turmoil and gravitas, so dont type as if they lost to a 1.6 converted team in this tourney when thats not the case

and #8 dont call them stupid for pointing out #3's mistake
