NewEgg LANfest 2k7 starts today here at the Ontario Convention Center Exhibit Hall A in Ontario, California and runs until Sunday October 7th. With all six CGS teams in attendance as well as many top tier professional prospects, this event should heat up very quickly.

Los Angeles Complexity

There isn’t much that we can criticize Los Angeles Complexity for at the moment. After winning both DigitalLife 2007 in New York City this past weekend without a loss, and a final record of 10-1 in CEVO-P; only losing the last match of the season to Pandemic, Complexity is coming full throttle into NewEgg LANfest 2k7. The momentum is definitely the advantage here for coL as they are coming into this LAN event vying for, yet again, the number one spot in America. Although this may be the toughest event of the year for Complexity with all six CGS teams in attendance, look for them to continue their streak as the #1 team in North America. The only real threat to coL here is over thinking that they might already have this one in the bag.

“It’s going to be tough with a lot of the best American sources team there, but we have a lot of momentum heading into NewEgg.” – Ron “Rambo” Kim

Chicago Chimera

Even though Chicago Chimera did not attend DigitalLife, they are a strong force to be reckoned with. Previously representing Canada as Evil Geniuses, Chimera contributed to the Region One Championship win over Carolina Core in the Championship Gaming Series. Chimera, however, has shown a poor performance online recently in this season’s CEVO-P coming in at a record of 3-7. This however, doesn’t mean that they can’t perform better at NewEgg. Anything can happen on LAN.

“I feel this will be a great tool for measuring where we are as a team. Online is difficult for us because of the geographic make up of this team, but I don't think that will affect the over all play of the team that much. My biggest concern is the team getting experience at this event leading up to the CGS world finals”- Brian Flander, General Manager of Chicago Chimera

San Francisco Optx

Coming off of a very poor showing at DigitalLife losing their first two matches, San Francisco Optx, formerly known as EF Gaming, will be looking to retaliate here at NewEgg LANfest. While currently sitting in at a record of 5-6 in CEVO-P and having competed in CGS Region 1, the Optx will be using the key $16,000 start money that they have become well accustomed to using in competitive tournament play. They are, however, looking for redemption, and this is definitely the time and place to do it.

“DigitalLife was a big wake up call and I think the only way to go from now is up, but I don’t see us completely revamping ourselves in only 5 days of practice, so hopefully we mix some new with some old and come out of LANfest in the top 2” - Moe “mOE” Assad

“Right now, all the guys are disappointed on how we performed at DigitalLife, but within this short week before NewEgg we’re trying our best to fix the problems we had. Hopefully we can give all of our fans a better performance playing against all of the CGS franchises for the first time since after the actual season. Hopefully we can redeem ourselves a little after this tournament.” - Ryan “phamtastik” Pham
