Counter-Strike Source: CEVO CSS Season 4 Final Standings

CEVO finalizes standings and playoffs set
After 7 grueling weeks of play, CEVO's Counter-Strike:Source Professional League has come to an end. It is no surprise that LA comLexity finishes in first place, but that is one of the few things that observers correctly predicted about the outcome of this season.

The Dallas Venom started the season 2-2 but then won out with an incredible streak to finish in second place, losing only to coL and Gravitas. Due to the relative parity amongst the records of the other teams, Pandemic was able to rally from near last place to securing a playoff spot.

The Last Resort was not a surprise to make playoffs due to phenomenol play from Samuel "Chewbacca" Tesh, although they stumbled at the end of the season and didn't produce the record they could have earned.

Just like TLR, the Carolina Core were also able to slip into the playoffs despite fizzling at the end of the season. Finally, Gravitas Gaming earned the last playoff spot by winning 3 of their last 4 matches.

Standings (sorted by CPI)

1. coL
2. Venom
3. Pandemic
4. TLR
5. Core
6. Gravitas

Note that this table does not sort the 6th place spot correctly because we don't have access to CEVO's CPI formula:

All six of the playoff teams will be granted auto-berths into the next season of CEVO P, although the Carolina Core are declining their spot due to their competition in the CGS World Finals. The five remaining teams will be joined by 7 teams from a placement tournament for a 12 team CEVO P Season 5.

CEVO Source playoffs are tentatively scheduled for October 28th-29th. GotFragTV will provide coverage and we'll have SourceTV, scorebots, and GameSense available as we did throughout the CEVO P season.
