Taking out JK from California State University - East Bay in overtime solidified the victory, earning her a trip to Sweden with Team Pandemic for the 2007 Winter Dreamhack LAN party. Rochester is up 6-5 with only a few precious seconds of regulation play on the clock. Illinois' golden boy has been clawing his way back tooth and nail from a four point deficit in what has to be one of the most stunning comebacks in recent years. A final score here would force the match into overtime and throw yet even more fuel into the bonfire of a rivalry between the conferences top two Universities. Illinois fakes a drive down the middle, takes the left route to circle around. Rochester takes the bait, leads down the middle, Rochester realizes the situation! Turns to check behind, ITS TOO LATE! The University of Illinois ties Rochester with a spectacular play by this seasons rookie starter. They have done what no one could of predicted and taken down Rochester with five consecutive points to force the OT. Unbelievable, this has to be one of the most stunning Counter-Strike victories in collegiate history! Could this be a part of future college competition? The first major effort to make this scenario a reality is about to commence. On Thursday, October 18th at 4:30pm PST GotFrag TV is going to bring you an eSports tournament that breaks new ground, utilizing a revolutionary concept. Bringing together the enthusiasm, passion, and downright bitter rivalry of inter-collegiate sports, the Dell Unleashed Counter-Strike Campus Challenge pits University against University in a one on one shootout bracket. Six national regions were carved out across the country. In each region, sixty-four gamers were placed in a single elimination bracket until whittled down to a final four. At this point, the players were randomly seeded in a double elimination event until one remained. That brings up to the present. As it stands, six regional champions have been decided; they along with two wildcard winners selected based on overall rounds won, have been placed in the National Elite Eight. Tournament Format - 1v1 Counter-Strike: Source - 8 players - All matches on aim_map - Single Elimination - 6 rounds per half - First to seven rounds wins - Overtime is one round sudden death The Prizes All participants in the elite eight receive a Team Pandemic Jersey, the top six qualifiers each receive a $100 VISA gift card. Whomever places first in the competition overall will be flown to Sweden to attend Dreamhack, the world's largest LAN with Team Pandemic. Dell campus representatives have announced that they will be hosting on-campus events at three of the universities participating in the Elite Eight.
