Counter-Strike Source: Mustang on Round 1

GotFrag's Ryan "coley" Cole had a chance to talk with Kyle "Mustang" Cummings about today's CEVO P playoffs

First off, please introduce yourself to those from the community that do not know you.

Mustang: Hello, my name is Kyle “Mustang” Cummings and I play for team Pandemic.

Going into the first match of the playoffs, does your team feel comfortable about playing Gravitas Gaming in the opening round?

Mustang: Gravitas and us have been playing against each other since I can remember. It's always fun to meet up with them as we both know our playing styles pretty well by now. It's good to see that we finally get to play on something besides dust2 also. When it comes down to the game though we're very comfortable with our first match and if things go our way look forward to playing against venom on dust2.

A thoughtful pose
Are you and your team working on any last minute practicing/tweaks in order to potentially make it to the finals? Or are you going into this match-by-match?

Mustang: This past week or so we've been unable to play as Griff had to move to Wisconsin. So the last few days we've beefed up our practice schedule a little bit to work out the last minute kinks. I believe we're well prepared to take the upper bracket.

How do you feel about the map selection? Are any maps weak for Pandemic that you know of going into the playoffs?

Mustang: I think the map selection is pretty solid. The only map I see that might be a problem for us later down the event is possibly russka. We haven't had as much time to put forth practicing russka so if the time comes we'll just have to see what happens ;p

Pandemic was the only team to actually beat LA CompLexity during regular season play. Are you confident that you can replicate that result in the playoffs?

Mustang: It's always good to keep a positive mindset, we as a team have full confidence in our ability to take home the gold regardless of the event. Complexity has been on top of the market for a while now. So in the end we hope to put on a good show and maybe be one of the many underdog teams up against complexity to take them down.

We all know that each team has a chance at winning it all, but do you believe any other of the 5 teams have a clear shot at the Season 4 title? Why or why not?

Mustang: Although it's hard to count out any team as they all have the talent to take this event, I see only 3 teams fighting for that money. My prediction would put us, core, and complexity at the top of the playoff bracket. I see both complexity and core as the best prepared for this event.

Would you like to make any shout outs to the community or sponsors?

Mustang: I'd just like to send a shoutout to Dell Unleashed for their sponsorship and the great college student discounts they are providing on gaming-quality laptops.
