GotFrag had a chance to talk with Tyler "Storm" Wood after complexity made it through the first day of CEVO P playoffs. ![]() GotFrag's Ryan Cole had a quick chat with Tyler "Storm" Wood after the first day of play in the CEVO P Playoffs. They discussed complexity's close call against the Carolina Core, the issue of ping and online play, and the worthiness of their opponents. How did you feel about the first match being so close to Carolina Core? Was it a scare to the team or was the composure kept constant? Storm: We never were scared during the match. We always try to keep our energy high and moods positive even if things aren't going our way. Every round is a new round to be won. Did you feel the ping difference against the Dallas Venom gave LA Complexity a definite advantage/boost of confidence? Storm: I honestly didn't even look at their pings. Lower ping is obviously very nice, but Marcus is still able to lead our team in frags sometimes with 130 ping from Sweden, haha. What do you feel is the weakest map for coL during the CEVO-P Championships, and do you think you overcome that? Storm: It usually depends on the team we're playing against. There are some teams that do well against us on nuke or train, but we've been refining our strategies on those maps over the past few months to fix that. Going into tomorrow’s matches having at least qualified for $1,500, which team do you feel will be of utmost threat to your team as you try to make it to the #1 spot? Storm: I think that Venom has the best shot of taking us down in the finals because of the best of three format. They will get to choose their best map, and then if it goes to three maps, contra is pretty balanced for both teams. Do you think Gravitas Gaming is a respectable opponent when looking at all of the other CGS teams and making an assumption that they could become a CGS contender team? Their play has been exceptional in some areas recently. How do you feel about that? Storm: They're definitely a respectable opponent. GG has always given us good games and good practice ever since their zomblerz days. Their players are solid and pretty consistent. They just need to keep practicing like they're doing and the breaks will start coming. Thank you for your time Tyler, would you like to make any shoutouts? Storm: Shoutouts to my family, the coL community, and John-David Hutchison. Be sure to tune into GotFrag TV tomorrow at 3:30 PM EST to catch all the pre-game commentary and action. |
