Counter-Strike Source: Paradox to Turmoil

Mike "paradox" Stanowski leaves Team Pandemic and joins the Turmoil Counter-Strike: Source lineup!

(GotFrag) - In a stunning off-season move, just hours after the end of the CEVO-P Season 4 Championship playoffs, Mike "paradox" Stanowski is leaving the Pandemic fold to join Team Turmoil. Team Pandemic's roster page confirms it, with the visage of Stanowski noticeably absent from the CS:S lineup.

GotFrag's Carlos "r3b0und" Mercado spoke with Stanowski about the move:

Okay, the first question is, obviously, why did you decide to leave Pandemic and join Team Turmoil?

I left Pandemic because it was becoming a bad environment for me. Nothing against the guys as I'm not blaming them completely, but things were slowly beginning to go downhill. My play and motivation declined greatly as a result and I wanted what was best for both parties. A team I play on deserves 100% of my effort and ability and Turmoil gives me a platform on which to shine on."

You were with this lineup from the Verge days, was it hard to leave them for this project?

Yes and no. It's always difficult to part with long time friends and teammates but it has happened before so the whole sentimental deal didn't hit me much. I'm excited as ever about this game and my future so that overshadows anything else to do with my move.

How do you feel about your new teammates? Do you think you will be able to mesh well with them?

Naturally I feel that they're all great people and players as well. I've already meshed pretty well in the couple days we've played together and we can only get better. I love the always positive and relaxed atmosphere that they set which is supportive and positive.

To get a little more detailed... Steve (Sasquatch) Csikos is one of the best minds and leaders in the game, Gary (Funshine) has an amazing and consistent awp, Rich (Sauce) and Matt (CheekZ) are two of the best rifles I've seen with the ability to make rounds happen in any situation. A great team throughout.

Do you see your role within the Turmoil lineup changing from what you used to do for Pandemic?

My role on Pandemic was pretty unique as I was usually my own mind ingame. Juan (Jon Mumm) had quite a bit of trust in my decisions and playmaking ability so I would usually force a lot of 1v1 situations. I plan to work with Sasquatch to develop my philosophy and mesh it with his already established system. I believe two minds are always better than one when you can make them work in harmony. Change is inevitable but welcome.

Do you know what Turmoil's future plans are with the new lineup? Continuing in CEVO? Going for CGS next year?

The three major events right now... Cevo-P, CPL, and CGS are on top of our priorities list. There may be smaller events in-between as we definitely plan to stay in shape.

Where will we see the new Turmoil lineup first?

Tonight (Monday) in round 1 of the Cevo-P placement tournament at 9:30CST. The Placement Tourney is first before Cevo-P and CPL but that's where you'll see us go full-throttle.

Anything else you'd like to say?

Thanks to all of my supporters, the Pandemic organization for their support, and the entire Turmoil squad for the opportunity. Great things to come!
