Counter-Strike Source: Changes within Infused Gaming

Following a 9th-12th place finish at i32, Infused Gaming has announced that significant changes are to be expected within their Counter-Strike: Source team.
Infused Gaming, home to one of the UK’s most proficient Counter-Strike: Source line-ups, has been the focus of a great deal of speculation recently about the state of the team. Rumour would have it that three players have left the organisation: John "Gandofini" Johnston, Paul "Deathh" Willis and James "Jam0r" Morris, possibly to reform under their previous organisation AuxiliA. Apparently, the three decided to leave following a poor performance at the recent i32 Tournament in Newbury, UK, where the team finished in 9th-12th position.

Adam ‘Adz’ Jessop, Managing Director of Infused Gaming, explained the issue in a statement to GotFrag:

"After our disappointing exit at the i32 tournament, it became clear that things needed to change and players had made up their own minds on their future within the team. Gandofini originally talked to me about leaving the team due to his wishes of building up his own lineup and it became apparent that Paul (Deathh) and James (Jam0r) would be leaving with him. This has left the team with the remaining 3 players of Ryy, Farley and w1p."

However, Jessop went on to add:

"I have been talking to both sides of the team and we will be announcing our intentions soon. It is up to both captains Ryy and Gandofini to find the players they want for the squad, however both of them have spoken to me about them representing infused within Counter Strike Source."

It appears that rather than leave Infused permanently to create their own team, Gandofini, Death and Jam0r have only temporarily left the organisation, and are still interested in playing under the Infused name, but with a new roster. Currently, the team is torn down the middle, with two groups scuffling for control of the CS:S line-up.

Ryan ‘ryy’ Kemmery, current team leader of Infused Gaming, gave us his side of the story:

"Since coming back from i32, I took a few days off to chill out and earn some cash. So I got back on Thursday, and people started telling me "ul, you’ll find other players" - I was like “err eh?”. Farley filled me in that Gandofini, Deathh and Jamor had decided to leave the team. I was a little surprised as a quote from Gando himself was "I don’t quit teams", anyway – I continued to investigate and started talking to the management.

It had become apparent that Gando had gone to the management at i32 - and behind my back told them he wanted to remake the team himself. The management kept it quiet and didn’t tell me, keeping me in the dark and making me out to be a fool. I was later told it was for the best, and that Gandofini's team will most probably get the green light.

I’m not a bitter person, but it’s as if I’ve been slightly screwed. Today I talked to Adz (iG manager), and voiced my opinion, as up until this point I haven’t said anything. We cleared the air, and now there may be a chance to stay. It still seems weird that 3 players leave the team to make a new one, and the management think it’s a good idea - when it’s just been backstabbing after backstabbing. I hope it sorts itself out and the right thing is decided, but at this point – it’s not all gravy."
