Team XFX has been invited to participate in this season of CEVO Pro CS:Source.
USA - Team XFX, winner of the CPL Winter 2007 Counter Strike Source championships has been invited to join CEVO Professional CS:Source Season 5. XFX will join the ranks of Team 3D, Complexity, Devastation, Pandemic, all the CGS teams and more this season. XFX will be taking the spot vacated by United 5. Team XFX was founded in 2007 by way of public voting for each player on the team. The team has since been part of a promotional bus tour and reality series, taking the team from place to place, competing against gamers from all walks of life. The XFX team participated in exhibtion matches at the CGS World Finals where they managed to pull off a win against the best CS:Source team in the world, Complexity.

The players were quite pleased about the announcement when speaking to GotFrag. Team XFX' Joe "dubs" Wishnia said, "This is an amazing opportunity for Team XFX to continue to compete at the top level. Other online leagues just don't offer the same level of competition as CEVO-P, so I am very happy to be competing against the best the United States has to offer. We're going to be playing hard and often to prove to anyone that might still doubt us that we are in fact one of the best teams out there and can compete with anyone."

XFX Team member Josh "haqshot^" Lanigan, veteran CS:Source player with stints on Upper, WeW, PowersGaming, Check Six, EFG and more, had this to say about the announcement, "I am glad we got into CEVO-P, I think with our level of experience we deserve to be here. You better watch out for us this season because we are coming for the title!"

Chris "deppy" DePaul was excited about his team making CEVO Pro, "I'm happy to see CEVO giving us a chance to compete against some of the top teams in the game. I believe we have worked hard, and would have played in the placement tournament during the tour if time had allowed us to, but we were quite busy with production and traveling. Look for us to turn some heads this season."
