This time around Midway, jESUIT, SirScoots and Singlecoil get help from Mark Dolven and Yazan "Clown" Ammari predicting CEVO Pro CS:Source Season 5, Week 2:2. ![]() For match night 2:2, GotFrag has enlisted the help of Mark Dolven, former manager of Team Pandemic and current manger for the CGS' Carolina Core. Mark has many years of experience in playing and managing eSports teams across a wide variety of games and is a well respected member of the community. Pinch predicting for Mr. Dolven will be Yazan “Clown” Ammari, former PowersGaming, EFG and current CGS San Francisco Optx, professional CS:Source player. Eximius vs. XFXEximius went down in match night 2:1 in a close one with Devastation 10-8, giving the team a .500 record at 2-2. Team XFX makes its debut in CEVO Pro CS:Source Season 5 in place of the absent United 5. XFX made a big impact on the scene recently with an XFX promotional bus tour, reality series and a win over Complexity in an exhibition match at the CGS World Finals. XFX is also CPL Winter 2007 CS:Source Champions. The Eximius lineup consists mostly of the old Forbidden squad with a list of accomplishments too long to list here.
eGe vs. x3oeGe is undefeated at 2-0 with wins over Devastation 10-7 and TLR 10-6. x3o comes into match night 2:2 at 0-3 with losses to the Core 10-5, coL 10-4 and, Dallas 10-3 on Russka in Week 2:1. These two lineups made their way to CEVO through the placement tournament but did not cross paths there.
Mexico City Furia vs. DevastationThe Furia are winless in their first season of CEVO Pro with losses to Optx 10-3, Pandemic 10-1 and a little better match against TLR 10-8. The Furia have a combined frag ratio of -100 for the season. Devastation won a close overtime match against Dallas in week 1:1 but suffered a disappointing loss to eGe 10-7 in 1:2, Dev managed to snap back on Ruskka in the first match night of the week bringing them to a 2-1 record .
San Francisco Optx vs. The Last ResortSan Francisco have opened the season on fire. Laurent “Warmach1ne” Keoula leads the league in +/-frag ratio with +26 and second to Complexity's Danny “FroD” Montaner in damage per round as the Optx have gone undefeated in three matches for a combined 30-8 score. Suffering at the hands of the Optx this season so far have been the Furia, 3D and Pandemic. 3D.NY vs. Team Pandemic3D has started this season of CEVO Pro on a low note with an embarrassing loss to the Optx 10-1 and a little closer match to the Core 10-8. - What the heck... X3O's roster has more gems than Tiffany's. Too bad they can't pick up a win yet, shame on them for dashing my expectations each week.
(1-2) exSports > XFX (0-1)
Not much to say here, XFX lost their first CEVO match to the Venom, not a good sign for the CPL(oL) champions.
(2-1) Devastation > Furia (0-3)
-Devastation likes to keep things interesting, in the spirit of good competition they never allow themselves to win by huge margins. Furia's record however, not so interesting. Zaibot, i hope you understand. <3
(3-0) OPTX > TLR (1-2)
-no contest, the OPTX are spanking CEVO so far, p0s is adamant about total Genghis Khan style domination and i doubt TLR can withstand it.
(2-1) Pandemic > 3D.NY (0-2)
-3D showed signs of life against the Core last week, but juan assures me that this match literally cannot be lost by pandemic. too close to call so I'll just go with his undoubtedly unbiased opinion.
(1-0) coL > Core (2-0)
It's coL! Until they lose I'll blindly expect them to win. Russka being as random as it is however, Core's got a shot. On the other hand, Scoots cannot be the only one who gets this right or we will never hear the end of it.
There, this'll show'em for not asking me to do preds. Vote for Shrew!
"-9 and 51 DAR? Mikey, say it ain't So! " ROFL I SEE WHAT YOU DID THAR!
SirScoots is also the best predictor in history.
OptX ftw
x3o > eGe
I'm going to take the minority opinion here, and say that da_bears and sunman's CGS experience will overcome struk, deciple, and heatwave +}+}+}+}
ExSports > XFX
This is another tough one, as I have a soft spot in my heart for the upstarts. But it'll take either this match or the next one for XFX to right their ship and play like they're supposed to.
Devastation > Furia
I wish I could say Furia in a shocker, I really do. But Devasation wins.
Optx > TLR
Sorry, ambushT. But it's Optx, and they're on a friggin' tear.
Pandemic > 3DNY
If Pandemic can at least hang with Optx, they should have no problems taking down NY, who seem to be in a bit of a tailspin.
LA > Carolina
Like Shrew, I consider LA winning to be a safe bet. This is the sort of match I was talking about in my CEVO preview concerning the Core and concerning LA, so this should be a good one regardless.
XFX 10 > ExSports 8
Dev 10 > Furia 4
Optx 10 > TLR 4
Pandemic 10 > 3D 8
coL 10 > Core 7
cause i havent seen any 1.6 predictions in quite some time....
Aww lol
I am going with it until they lose!
:)
you need to add the predictors record
:D
pzzzzzz
eGe > x3o - I haven't seen much life in x3o this season.
Dev > Furia - In a blowout.
OPTX > TLR - OPTX has really stepped it up since CGS.
Pandemic > 3D-NY - Pandemic in a close match
CoL > Core - As much as I love the Core, until someone finds a major fault in CoL's armor they are pretty much unbeatable.
Furia surprised me with 8 against TLR, still I think there's a better chance we'll see snow in Mexico City than Devastation losing here!
i guess TLR will lose this match, because midway, is a tard... if you do a bit of research instead of bad mouthing Furia you would have noticed that it snowed this December in some parts of the state of Hidalgo in Mexico.
I don't even watch CS:S matches, but I definitely hope whatever team you root for loses.
Always finding a way to keep the old man down!
all the way.
